I quoted earlier studies showing that the brain is stimulated in the addiction centers of the brain in people who are in love, and like most addictions it is ergo a choice. BUT for those who advocate a disease of addiction, then okay it is a disease.

I think it's a feeling. You can't help who you love. You can however help what you will put up with.

With regard to a mate, it's a choice with feelings behind it. As for cats, kids and grandkids, there is no choice involved.

Love is such a generic term. The feelings that most people associate with love I don't believe are something you choose. The attractions you have for others come largely from experience, comfort, social conditioning, etc. However the connection that allows you to bond to someone else is a choice. It is that choice that indicates to me that I am in love.

Is love a feeling or a choice? It's a sneaky little unpredictable thing. However, I definitely think it's a feeling. You have to make choices when you're in love, and it's definitely unpredictable. |

Your question, if love is a feeling or a choice, causes me to ask myself, if find either to be the case- My experience is that were love either of these, I would be in trouble! love for me is bigger than my desires, which are the strongest of my feelings and the basis for my choices. It manifests outside of me before it is felt within me- it requires an object. Great question posed. |
