Nervous when meeting someone for the first time? And if you do what

Not about meeting them, in general, but I have a physiological
propensity toward anxiety as it is, so I have to make sure I'm very
comfortable about meeting them to begin with.

I'll always arrange a very brief meeting first, then, if we do hit it
off, we can extend the date or make plans for later. I will never
arrange a date in which the ONLY focus, the only thing to do, is sit and
talk and/or watch each other eat).

I have to be DOING something...zoo, museum, etc., in order to feel
comfortable. And I won't go out with a guy without having spoken to him
for a reasonable amount of time, anyway, so, for me, anyway, I don't
look at a first date as a "the story of my life-swapping" date.

Thanks Jean. I have an issue with anxiety too so I get REALLY nervous
the first time I meet someone. Wish I had your ideas before, the zoo or
other activity would have been great.

If you're nervous usually, best thing to do is relax first, be sure you
are well rested. That way you can deal with whatever comes your way
easier.

Don't forget to breathe!!lol long deep ones calm the nerves.
Meet in a public place so you feel secure.

Let the bartender\waiter know that you are meeting this guy for the
first time cause he has a bouncer and authority in case of any problems.
This can make you feel a little at ease.

Ask him what he drives and what he will be wearing so that you can spot
him from a distance and watch his body language for a bit before he
meets you. Even from your own car.

Take a friend along..it's only to talk and the friend can sit close by
and keep an eye on you. He does not even have to know that your friend
is there.

Everybody is nervous..you are not alone. You could be meeting your soul
mate. That's a good nervousness to have!

I just try to calm myself down by breathing...Once you meet the person,
it usually dies down.

Half a bottle of Tequila usualy helps me.

Yes I do get a bit nervous , but no tricks just plenty of conversatiton
and some laughing always seems to ease the moment. And then just go from
there once you get to know each other better.

All we can do is be yourselves and if that’s not good enough for them,
screw em they don’t know a good thing when they see one and Broken what
I know about you, you have nothing to worry about.

What are you nervous about? Sheesh...you meet people every day at
work...every shop you walk in and out of...

Betsy, you are so bright and bubbly, and shine...just be
you...sheesh...if you can do meet and greet with clients at work, you
can do anything.

Just enjoy! And relax...there are no sheep stations riding on this, as
we say here in Australia, (it's no biggy)..
