but then they say "he'll just have to accept me as I am"

Honest, I had to look at my profile.
Yep, four pics of me wearing a hat.
I have had pics up with no hat in the past.

My favorites are the 'Cell phone goatee' mirror pics.laugh

Loose the hats. Unless it is part of a costume.

I gotta disagree on this one. If I see a picture of a woman in a hat, and she can pull off the look...well...drool

Fair enough. I'm just sick of seeing baseball caps.

On unsuccessful pics.

Fun pics are fine. Show sides of your personality.

But for face shots or "this is what I look like" photos, here are a few things to think about.

Loose the hats. Unless it is part of a costume.

Guys, long hair is great, but please brush it before taking a photo. And get the ends trimmed so it doesn't look scraggly.

Facial hair. Keep it nice looking. If you have a long beard, trim and shape it. If short, shaping is still good. Mustaches should suit your face. Not be an inch and a half longer than your mouth on each side unless you are actually cultivating handlebars for some reason.

You have a nice beard or nice mustache, get rid of the scruffy shadow around the rest of the face. 5 o'clock shadow only really works on people with clean shaven faces and then not on everyone.

Don't take your profile pics in t-shirts with stains and REALLY don't use a mirror shot. I good photo where you hold the camera out and do a self photo is better than a mirror shot.

Demanding. Aren't we. I shave if I want to, I brush my hair if I want to. Do this, don't so that...hows that working out for you?

Just sick of getting emails from guys who look like they took their photos after a three day bender and didn't bother to shower or pull themselves together.

I am picky, this is why I don't settle and I don't email many people back.

Personally, I am all about the anime pics! Guess that doesn't get much of a thumbs up around here, but I do it anyway! biggrin

No I like anime pics. Either tells me what the person is watching or it tells me what the person likes.

See....now Anime pics mean absolutely nothing to me.

I have not watched even one minute of any Anime show/movie whatever.

When I see pics like that, I recognize the style and that's about it.

Really, I posted this topic after several men put up threads about how to improve their profiles because no one would reply to them.

Easier to answer in one thread than posting it in all their different threads.

If people want other people to answer their messages, maybe they need to think about the photos they use a little more and put more info in the profiles.

Really, photos that look like a person woke up in a gutter after a hard night out and then went home to take pictures of this looks aren't going to inspire a lot of confidence.

different strokes for different folks i guess

i love scraggly, scruffy men and seeing them with frumpy hair curled over their neck sporting a ball cap is far more attractive to me than being neatly brushed, groomed and unwrinkled.
