how do you feel about people touching you? i don't mean necessarily inappropriate touching, but even when people touch your arm when they are talking to you, ruffle your hair, or pat you on the back etc. does it irk you? or do you not mind it? how about you- do mind it? i do actually there are only a few people i don't mind touching me: my boyfriend, my mum and my sister. for everyone else i put distance of at least two feet between myself and them without even being consciously aware of it. my closest friends have pointed out that habit to me.  |

Touching someone during the course of a conversation is a very forward or even aggressive move. Americans have a much larger sense of personal space than most Europeans. So if you are talking to someone in a bar and they are constantly touching your arm or hand, you know what is on their mind. Either that or you are in a bar in Turkey.
