Who here has been divorced? And, if you are so willing to post, why didn't it work?
I'll start: It's kinda a long story and why it failed is in two parts. I'll try and make it concise... The first part is we married when I was 18 and he was 17. We THOUGHT we knew who we were and what we wanted out of life. But as the years went by and we aged and grew into who we TRULY were, we realized how very very different we were from each-other. I'm liberal, punk rock, Pagan and independent. He's conservative, country, Christian, and wants a wife to stay home and raise the kids. We realized if we were ever going to save our friendship and the peace of our childrens' childhoods, we had to divorce. The second is he fell in love with a friend of mine who, to be honest, was WAY better for him than me. And that is that! |

Divorced 10 years ago...

Divorced for several years, just took different turns in life, we loved each other but feel OUT of love with each other, it was for the best all the way around!!

im divorce for five years.my ex cheated on me with my best friend and she got pregnant by him.

she was unfaithful after 17yrs of marriage. tried to work it out, couldnt do it...no more trust. we do get along fine though now.

I usually tell people that his issues and my issues didn't coexist well. We tried 2 years of marriage counseling, and when that didn't work, we elected to go our separate ways. The divorce was fairly amicable (once the money issues were worked out, lol) and I get along well with both him and his current wife.

Easily. A smidge is a little more than a teensy and a little less than a bit!
And...  You're gonna give me an ego, buddy... thank you... ETA: LadyWolf, that's close to my divorce too. Down to the money stuff. We still don't talk about that. Keeps things peaceful.

In order to keep things peaceful for the kiddo, I walked away from all of it. He was the one who wanted all that "stuff" anyway, not me. So, I took only what I brought into the marriage & just bought new necessities. Amazing how easy going the rest of it became :) |

married for 12 years, divorced now for the last 13 yrs.
he cheated on me, i too tried to forgive and work it out, but i could not, the pain was way to much to bare, he died in a motorcycle accident about 3 yrs ago. he was calling my name while they loaded him up in the ambulance, guess after 10 yrs of divorce, he knew who really mattered to him, i never got to tell him that i forgave him. i have learned to forgive more easily now, life is to short and i never want to lose someone else i care about without them knowing that i have loved and forgiven them |

NEVER BEEN MARRIED ,BUT NOW DIVORCED WOMEN FROM SCHOOL THAT IGNORED ME . SEEM TO TAKE AN INTEREST ME NOW ...... BUT THEY DO HAVE CHILDREN ....... BUT I HAVE A FEELING THEY WILL PUT THE KIDS FIRST IN THE RELATIONSHIP AND ME SECOND THE KIDS WILL HAVE PRIORITY OVER ME .......
