Hey all, I’m pretty new to this and I need some help. I am in the middle
of a messy divorce and I really hate my ex-husband. I dream about taking
a baseball bat and shattering the windows of his cars and of the house.
I am very angry!
Can someone please give me some strategies on how I can calm down and
behave rationally? I REALLY need it!!!

I am not one who needs anger management. Please don't missunderstand me.
I am, however, angry about the unfair treatment being imposed upon me.

Just remember...life isn't fair! It takes a bigger person to walk away
from whatever has happened. People will look back on the whole situation
and say..wow she really handled things really well.
I know when I went through my messy divorce, my main focus was my
children. You have to have something to concentrate on better then him,
being angry is not going to do anything but cause you problems. Anger
gets you no where really fast~~so you need to focus on getting over the
past and move on with your life. Good luck flowerforyou

I completely understand how you feel. The best thing to do to relieve
some of that blinding anger is to find suitable ways to release it. I
used go for a long hard run, then come home and write in a journal.
Those are just a couple of things you can do. You could call a friend
and tell them to "just listen while I vent". That works wonders. If you
need to you can email me and I'll listen  If the anger is too
much, a good technique is beating or screaming into a pillow. I hear it
works.

If you do that--he wins because he drove you off the deep end. Stay
focused on what is important and remind yourself things will be okay
soon and you will be without him.

um first of all you need to get a grip , and get counseling, if you feel
a need to become violent that means there is something wrong, we all
have out heart breaks but you know what.. you become the bigger person
when you are just kind about it not showing him how mad/ jealous or
whatever it is, because you let him win when you do that... you have to
forgive him and kill him with kindness don't let him win! plus why hate
him? if this is ending it's actually doing you a favor plus i'm sure
you've learned something about yourself while in this relationshp so
that you can obtain a better one in the future.. be a grown up set an
example! anger= bad!

counseling and anger management both seem appropriate.

there are a myriad of emotions that we go through during divorce, and a
good psychologist can help us work through those in a neutral setting.

Hmmm.. I can understand that emotions and frustrations are high.

What is it you are angry about?

What specifically is the unfair treatment, that you feel is going on?

the very first thing you need to do is take a lot of deep breaths and
calm down......

maybe have a hot bath.... or something you like to do

Oh Give her a break. All of us have been MAd enough in our bad times.
Just stay focussed Like Some said....Imagine the fact your Life is still
active and you have a chance to Move On. Focus More On your good than
the bad...and dont let others pass their bag of Chit On to you and make
you upset. God Bless

My Point dont confide In the average person who spends all their days On
here Judging all problems But their Own. Live your Life with good
direction and have faith.
Be Nice and you will see. And Flush out the whiners surrounding

Hate is a bad word, sounds like you really do need anger management.
Life is too short to go through it holding in your hostilities you need
to find an appropriate avenue for venting your frustrations.
