I'm only saying this because a quiz show like that quiz cab, only on a roller coaster ride, made me realize it.

The kid had no idea who the King of the Jungle is. After the ride was done, the questioner is asked the kid again. The kid said King Kong.

Okay, turns out the name of show is Brain Rush.

Kids nowadays have the attention-span of a flea, and they simply aren't interested in anything that happened before they were born. Heck- most aren't even interested in stuff that happened five minutes ago.

Moofie...

May I ask, why should they?

Why do they need to look backwards?

When their lives are based HERE, NOW....and in the forwards of life?

Kids know more than we give them credit for....

Why should they? So they can learn from the mistakes of their predecessors, that's why.

For example- nobody seems to get what the REAL reason for our current economic downturn is... speculation, not only in the stock market, but also in the real-estate and mortgage industries. It's essentially one of the major causes of the Great Depression over seventy years ago, and -despite that fact- no one even remembers or even bothers to TRY to remember.

It's like the saying goes, "those who do not learn from the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them".

What moof said about "history repeating itself" is quite true. If anything, that's the greatest dilemma with the impasse of communication between generations--that our society is plummeting once again downhill, repeating the same, now-preventable mistakes--not whether or not they can answer trivia questions.

But yes, the abuse (overuse) of technology may be in part to blame! Children, as generations go by, increasingly have no patience--they're Existentialistic, live for the moment, and for NEW things to come as instantly as possible. THAT is our culture; everyone's culture. The older generations just deny the way things are becoming.

Is change good or bad? That depends on whom you ask, dear children!

I don't know the show, "Brain Rush". I think I've heard Tarzan as the King of the Jungle. Then there's George of the Jungle. lol I've also heard the lion as the King of the Jungle too. I've even heard God as the King of the Jungle. What is the answer?laugh
