Has anyone ever gotten this before?

What has happened to me since I was 13..... Is that sometimes I am
asleep, and I wake up. I can't move, speak, and it feels as if I am not
breathing, although I know I am. Yet I can hear and see demons running
around or taunting me. Sometimes shadow like figures are walking about,
as if they lived within the house and I wasn't there. I researched this
online, and most people do get the feeling of something evil present. I
know there is a logically explanation to it, although I believe in the
flip side of things as well.

Things are going great in my life. God is working his magic. Yet I
just awoke from a 2 hour sleep to this feeling. I thought I was awake,
as I was trying to see these demons I kept hearing.... I tried to pull
the covers off my face, but they were like stuck to my face. I waved my
hands around, and I felt this hard invisible force. I caught something
in my hand, and struggled to hold on.... But it broke free. I could
hear my cat outside my room meowing, and yet when I fully woke up and
was able to have control over myself.... No one was awake. I just told
myself "I am going to get these bastards and see for myself" yet I
missed the chance. I just remember seeing this little demon (I mean
tiny! Not like what I was used to seeing back in the day) just keep
running around as if to say "Hah hah hah..... Catch me if you can boy!"
I dunno.

You ever experience this?

Hummm can say I have never experienced anything like that. But maybe
there is something somewhere in your life that is actually bothing you
and somehow these moments are trying to tell you something. For when you
get into the meanings of dreams they have theory's of what each dream is
pretaining to. Maybe if you check into dreams even though you feel as if
awake you might get some ideal how to find out the meaning of what's
happening.

Yes, it happened to me when I was about 14, and was a precursor to my
having panic attacks. Whether or not it was related to that, I'm not
sure. I also got hit indirectly by lightning before the PAs started, so
that might also have had something to do with it.

From Wikipedia:

"Sleep paralysis is a condition characterized by temporary paralysis of
the body shortly after waking up (known as hypnopompic paralysis) or,
less often, shortly before falling asleep (known as hypnagogic
paralysis).

The Nightmare, by Henry Fuseli (1781) is thought to be one of the
classic depictions of sleep paralysis perceived as a demonic
visitation.Physiologically, it is closely related to the paralysis that
occurs as a natural part of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, which is
known as REM atonia. Sleep paralysis occurs when the brain awakes from a
REM state, but the bodily paralysis persists. This leaves the person
fully aware, but unable to move. In addition, the state may be
accompanied by hypnagogic hallucinations.

More often than not, sleep paralysis is believed by the person affected
by it to be no more than a dream. This explains many dream recountings
which describe the person lying frozen and unable to move. The
hallucinatory element to sleep paralysis makes it even more likely that
someone will interpret the experience as a dream, since completely
fanciful objects may appear in the room alongside one's normal vision."

Hope that helps.

Have you ever mentioned it to a doctor? I would.

Yeah, I think I am going to mention it. I am supposed to see a doctor
about my panic attacks. They aren't that bad, although I realized I
have them and need to get that taken care of so it can make it a little
easier to quit smoking. Thanks guys.

This happens when your mind has woken up but your body remains
asleep...it is quite common and totally harmless (a bit scarey but
totally harmless) flowerforyou You would be surprised at how many ER
reports I have typed of people who race to the ER thinking they are
dying or something over this laugh

"A bit scary" is hardly the way to describe it. It's terrifying. And so
are panic attacks.

I call them "a bit scarey" because I know what they are like...my
youngest son and I both get them from time to time...so yeah, they are a
bit scarey but totally harmless flowerforyou

Suzi, I can appreciate it from your point of view, but the one SP
episode I had when I was 14 was anything BUT "a bit scary." It was
terrifying. And, too, are panic attacks. I wouldn't wish panic disorder
on my worst enemy.

Thanks guys. The first time when it happened. I seen this robed figure
that was floating to my left. It appeared as if it WAS trying to take
my damn soul! My friend stayed over that night and knocked out on the
floor. He woke up as soon as it left and I was able to move again. I
thought I made a sound or moved suddenly that might have woke up, and
when I asked him, he said no and fell back asleep. It still trips me
out. Why do a lot of people see demons?
