A nudge as it pertains to this particular Redneck is a knock upside the noggin of whomever happens to be annoyin me at the time. 
In Mingle terms it's the lil button shown on a person's profile. When it's from someone who've never corresponded with it's a passive way of them gettin ur attention, which is usually ignored by most. When it's from someone on ur friend's list, it's their way of sayin "Hey, how ya doin?"

Nudges are meant to be sort of an icebreaker for folks who find it difficult to find an opening line...just a gentle way of saying...'you caught me eye' or...a great way to to let friends know you're thinking of them.

I enjoy them also when they are from people I know, just lets me know they thought of me. Maybe they were in a hurry and just wanted to say a quick HI. I send nudges to friends for that reason....just a kiss or hug sent your way. When nudges are from strangers....not so fun, usually ignore them. May check out their profile, may not. What I don't like is total strangers adding me as a fav??? WTF is with that??? |

If the sender gets an affirmative response then IMHO an introduction by email is approriate. I would not go up to a stranger and just talking unless they nodded or smiled or other wise made an affirmation. |
