What do you think about this Plan?

Plan a huge initiative on making America energy independent, with an
Apollo-like program to become more reliant on renewable fuels.
Ask the American people to sacrifice in so doing.
Have a major initiative on climate change.
90% reduced emissions by 2050.

Well now if you are talking drastic measures how bout this.

Pass a law that ANY automobile sold after 2012 MUST be alternative
energy no GAS.

Put penalties in place that will not allow GAS powered vehicles on the
highways after a certian date.

Make auto manufactures produce what we need by hitting them in the
pocket book if they dont.

Make GAS STATION owners switch over to providing service for Alternate
energy systems at the same time.

Never get it past the oil lobby.

It wouldn't get past anyone. It can work Fanta and AB but your time
frame is too tight. Can yo imagine the taxpayers being asked to pay for
vehicles that many people cannot afford? One thing is for certain, it
would get all of the uninsured old beaters off the street.

Chevrolet Sequel - History In The Making
Chevy Sequel Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle Goes 300 Miles!Posted May 16
2007 01:26 PM by Melissa

"With this drive, General Motors has reached another important milestone
toward the commercialization of our fuel cell vehicles, by achieving the
range expected by today's consumers," said Larry Burns, GM vice
president, research & development and strategic planning. "And we did it
while producing zero emissions, as a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle only
emits water. In addition, the hydrogen produced at Niagara Falls, used
to fuel Sequel, was derived from hydropower - a clean, renewable
resource. This means that the entire process - from the creation of the
hydrogen to the use of the fuel in the vehicle -- was virtually carbon
dioxide free."

Nothing is impossible with a National Effort like that of the Apollo
era, and technologies like this car. Shame is, I think Honda is going
to be the first to release a model. (Next Year, I think)

I like your points AD!!!

Ban all cars within 10 miles of all major city centres.
Increase public transport funding to use Electric buses (See below)
Motorbikes should be encouraged. (Safety allowing)
---------

Electric buses are quiet and pollution free at street level. Most
electric public transport vehicles such as Metrolink, trains and
trolleybuses use external power supplies.

Battery vehicles can theoretically provide similar benefits without
wires, but except for very specialised routes, current batteries buses
do not have acceptable performance and can't provide energy for long
enough.

Fuel cell buses are also electric buses. The electricity is generated in
a fuel cell from hydrogen stored in a tank on the bus roof. The hydrogen
combines with oxygen from the atmosphere and produce electricity and
water vapour. The electricity is used to drive the bus, and the water
vapour is the only street-level emission.

So ... how would you like water as the only emission?

now ya talking about a subject i like gentelmen! hydrogen is simple to
produce, cheep to produce using solar panels to produce DC electricty.
Electrolysis can then be used to clean polluted water.,fuel cell
technology was around before the automobile it is out dated.Hydrogen is
the only clean way to run our cars.cars do need to be modified to run on
hydrogen.burn hydrogen ya get waterbigsmile the sun shine is free for
every one.growing crops for ethanol will deplete the soil, not
good.steam can be produced by boiling water using magnifyed sun energy,
that steam can run turbines to run generators to give us low cost
pollution free electricitybigsmile

Do we really need vehicles that can do 150mph (240km/h)

If we were all committed to reducing CO2 then we could reduce the size
of our vehicle's engine size.

This is why in the UK they have doubled the tax on 4x4 gas-guzzling
monsters!

I was enraged when they did it. But the idea of paying twice (once for
the road tax and once for the tax on the fuel) forced me to sell my
beloved tank. I now have a motorbike and although the weather in the UK
is not conducive to wonderful biking all the time, I am much happier on
my bike than sitting in traffic (because the UK has too many cars
already) polluting the atmosphere.

I have to buy a car to carry heavy stuff around, so, I m looking for the
smallest car that can do the job

Right now, gas costs over $3.00 a gallon here in New England.

I notice more people driving less, planning their driving chores more
carefully and thinking more about the purchase of a more fuel efficient
vehicle.

Maybe high gas prices are a good thing!!????

we should be driveing v12s nothing less than about 7ltr cc engine .the
more clean water we produce the better. cars must use hydrogen as a fuel
.

cruise at a minimum of 250 kph and runs on hydrogen I produce using
polluted waterbigsmile

Nathan Stubblefield

"Investigators entered his land area and found heavy wires leading from
the roots of trees. To these wires were attached small arc lamps, hung
in the trees. These were extinguished. They imagined the arc lamps to be
the explanation of his hillside sunlight. Their hasty analysis proved
problematic from stories which witnesses report. The warm and diffused
sunlight which came from the ground itself around his house was not
localized in specific lamps. The light came from the ground, not from
the trees as before... a "whole hillside that would blossom with
light"... "lit up like daytime". These observations indicate that
Stubblefield had managed indeed the direct conversion of earth energy to
light and warmth. This would acceptable, were Mr. Stubblefield simply
working on a newer form of drawing electricity from the ground to light
small arc-lamps; a feat which he had accomplished earlier. But these
kind persons could never find any evidence of arc-lighting or any other
form of known lighting anywhere near the area. In their own words "the
light seemed to come out from the ground itself".

In addition to ground sunlight effects, many heard very loud and
unfamiliar noises coming from the whole area surrounding his cabin. What
could this be? Had he managed to directly transduce the natural impulses
of the ground energy into audio?

His last claim two weeks before his death was made to a kind neighbor:
"The past is nothing. I have perfected now the greatest invention the
world has ever known..... I have taken light from the air and earth....
as I did sound."

Neighbors had not seen Nathan for several days. As they were worried
about his health, they attempted to call on him. The lock was secured
from the inside. It was a lonely, cold and rainy March day when old
friends and neighbors broke the lock on Nathan's cabin and entered. He
had passed away in his bed, the probable victim of malnutrition and
fatigue. They all noticed that the interior of the cabin was "toasty
warm", as if heated by a strong fire. Moved to locate the source of this
heat, town officials found " two highly polished metal mirrors which
faced each other, radiating a very great heat in rippling waves" This
is a great discovery. It fulfills what Nathan reported in his last
testimony."

First you have to believe in the whole hoax of man creating global
warming..."global warming" has been going on for last 10.000 years since
the last mini ice age. What started the warming 10,000 years ago that
melted the ice caps that created our Grand Canyon, Niagra falls, Salt
flats etc? Was it the SUV's Fred and Barney drove around cave to cave?
Our planet will warm (naturally) until there will be so much cloud cover
that it will begin to cool and enter its next ice age...this has been
going on for millions of years. Scientists are seeing a very steady
increase in temperture on Mars over the last 20 years...does this prove
that there are Martians driving SUV's on Mars..I think not..it proves
the cycle of the sun...which reverses its magnetic polarity every 20-30
years has more to do with our heating and cooling then anything else.
It's a shame that certain entities make billions of dollars on the
gullibilty of uneducated people. Al gore is a perfect example of these
people who tell us what we should be doing to save our planet from
global warming yet has a "carbon footprint" bigger then 100 people
combined.

Now Polution is another problem altogether..I am for cleaning up our
world..just because no-one wants to breathe bad air or drink
contaminated water...So I am all for using "clean" energy. The problem is
that Einstein's theory E=MC2 which basically says energy can not be
created or destroyed..just transformed means there are only two sources
of clean energy available to us..solar and nuclear fission...the later
has not been achieved with much success.Electric cars?? think about
it..each car needs betweeen 20 and 30 batteries to run...how much
industrial energy does it take to make those batteries..how much energy
does it take to mine the lead for the batteries...how much petroleum to
make the casings...then of course you have 200 million batteries that
have to be disposed of every few years...we'd be living in a toxic dump
from all the lead and acids in just a few years..not to mention you
still need to recharge batteries...doesn't make sense unless all power
plants are neclear. Hydrogen is best but only if it can be made using
Solar energy..going back to E=MC2 it uses just as much energy now to
make hydrogen as you get out of burning it...so basically I believe we
should concentrate on solar tech...so we can use our only real free and
clean source of energy until we can unlock the secret of fission. So
here is to a clean and friendly enviroment drinker drinker drinker

Ban all cars within 10 miles of the city limits? lets get real here. I
am a disabled mom with a multiple disabled youngin. Next week i have to
drive 100 MILES to the big city for his every 2 month appointment at his
neurologists office. This is not a luxury or mini vacation. He has
several seizure disorders and the grand mals are the worst. Then i have
to drive back home to drive another 10 miles to his pharmacy for these
medications he needs to live a better life free of these seizures and
disorders. I drive an old beat up truck or my 91 car. I cannot AFFORD to
go out and buy a brand new hydrogen or battery/vehicle. I dont know many
here who can.
We have TVA right up the road fanta as you know. A nice BIG NUCLEAR
POWER PLANT and where does THAT power go? ALABAMA. So dont fish in the
river there. I did and pulled out a nice trout with 3 eyes and a spine
growing OUTSIDE its body. noway noway noway noway noway Thanks
to the obscense prices of gas any plans for even a trip to gatlinberg
(60 miles away) for a summer day of fun with my boy is now off. I am not
the only one in this situation but i dont see where anyone is going to
drive a brand new energy efficent vehicle to my front door so for now
thats just a dream.

HYDROGEN is best and can be easily produced using the suns light to
create electricity with photoelectric cells.HYDROGEN is is the answer.
it can be made simply cheeply and it will not pollute.hydrogen is the
the most potent source or energy to fuel engines .
