Voted down were amendments that would require proof of citizenship or legal status to sign up for the government plan, that would bar government funding abortion as a plan “benefit,” and an amendment that would bar rationing of health care based on comparative effectiveness data.

they are already covered
all they have to do is pop in to the emergency room where they can not be turned away by law and by law they can't be questioned as to their immigration status so whats the difference? |

This is my major concern. The bills are not getting paid. Medicare is about 5 years behind on their payments, and as a result the hospitals are picking up the brunt of the financial burden. This leads to staff cuts, overcharging people that have insurance, etc. just to survive. Can't help but wonder, if we would withdraw our troops from the 130 different countries they are in, would maybe help pay the bill. But, since the American making 60,000 a year pays about 40,000 in taxes of one form or another, i don't think it would be wise to raise taxes any more. First, we need to find the money. |

Illegals WON'T be covered by the plan. Everyone will still get free emergency room care though(This is the same in MOST industrialized countries). I think if they are illegal and go to the ER they should be deported after it though, instead they just walk out.

Those bills get paid by someone.. in most cases, I think its county tax payers that foot the bill and it's not free in "most industrialized countries".. When will people learn that there's no such thing as "free"??? |

If you and I both go in and I can't/won't/have no way to pay my bill, guess what? you're going to get charged double so that we both get treatment.. so untill there is solvency for freeloading deadbeats, prices and costs will continue to rise.. and I suspect any "government plan" will only exaccerbate that issue rather than solve for it.. |

The state runs it and the fed(us) pays. This is farming country and they head to places like this for work--The high school kids used to pic in the sunmmer--but the state made that e-legal years ago.---so yes whats the diff. |

I've seen what they get paid though. Sometimes the small amounts are shocking. |
