I see schools primarily existing as a life support mechanism for unions and administrators

teaching children is secondary to that

Yeah, I'll give you that. I actually had a meeting with my son's "team" (he's learning disabled) and they told me flat out that teaching is a "joint" effort but that parents should take the primary role in educating their kids. I'm sorry, I'm not a teacher. While I agree it is a joint effort, I think it is the teacher's primary job, my job is to support it and help it. They told me flat out I was wrong. When I asked them what their job was and why they were collecting a paycheck, I didn't really get much of an answer.

Our school systems have needed revamping for a long time. But presidents speaking to the children has never been an issue of this kind before.

Obama is actually well versed in the educational system and knows where it needs work. I was hoping even with all that was on his plate he would be able to work on the educational system in this country.

But alas the indoctrinated zombie kids will take up too much time I am sure...lol
