I'm Your Man ... Nice doc about Leonard Cohen w/ many musicians doing their rendition covers of his work, w/ commentaries. Leonard throws in quite a lot of comments regarding himself and his works as well. Love it! I'm Not There ... Way kewl surrealistic take on Bob Dylan's life, w/ many a luminary star taking on the role of Dylan in various parts of his musical journey. One is even his childhood as a lil black boy. Jumps through time, back and forth. Very well done; see it! |

Yes! I really liked seeing a glimpse inside Ray's life. I'd love a good Billie Holiday bio. So interesting to contemplate what the great artists actually endured being black in those miserable to them US years, despite their stardom ...

Yeah, saw it too ... it was OK ... love to see a better, deeper rendition ... maybe more a "What all the black greats went through then" kinda thang ... Lightnin' Hopkins was a personal friend of mine. He lived in a ghetto~shantytown, shotgun row house up until his death, abject poverty. SO messed up!!! |
