In 2005, I took a bus ride from Washington State to Wyoming. I really
had no particular reason but to visit a relative. Just wanted the time
to read a novel and see what it was like.
This ride took 23 hours and I observed the most amazing things, while on
this ride I noticed many immigrants boarding the bus at different stops.
I also noticed at each stop were English Spanish speaking legal
immigrants. They met each of the non-English speaking passengers and
directed them to their next destination.
As the ride went on, I had to help some of the people with reading the
tickets they had on their persons, I found it very interesting they were
all heading for the mid-states to help with crops.
I just found this interesting when reading the postings about where
people are in complaint about immigrants and wonder how they got to
their state. There is little ID required for boarding a bus or train.
My own father used to ride the railroad when he was young to get from
one point to another, but of course, he was born in 1915.

Great post, Jade. Thanks. It is essential that we see these people we
lump together under the term 'immigrants' as indviiduals, people who
lead normal lives, and who are wrestling with few resources to meet the
daily challenges of their lives. In my opinion, it is compassion that we
'legals' ought to bring to them, not fear and hatred.

To Jess's eloquent question of yesterday....

Yes, the US is in a deep hole financially.

Unfunded liabilities of the government (that is, the taxpayer) are now
1.3 TRILLION dollars. How many of us even know how many zeroes are in a
trillion?

This is equal to about $510,000 per US household. How many households
can pay off that kind of money?

As a consequence, the US dollar is already falling heavily against other
currencies. The American people, even while they may be accumulating
some of them more and more personal dollars, are actually losing wealth
through the loss of value of the dollar -- and this is all due to the
Bush adminsitration's spending activitites, the most egregious being the
so-called 'war on terror'.

A hidden cost of Bush's policies is that other departments of the US
government have been stripped out to throw more money into Iraq. So,
education monies are down, crime fighting, agriculture, foreign
assistance -- all of these activities have been cut back. We can't fund
our schools the way we want to, we can't fund medical research, science,
student scholarships, social security, road and bridge maintenance,
public transportation, flood control, etc. etc. etc.

Next time an American complains that some important service is not being
carried out properly, thank the Bush administration....

More Proof that Bush does NOT Speak for Americans

Bush to Push Immigration Bill at Capitol

http://dailynews.att.net/cgi-bin/news?e=pri&dt=070612&cat=news&st=newsd8pn9pv81&src=ap

Even though this bill was already defeated, he is trying to bully the
Capital into passing it.

N.C. is not a middle state, and they do not come here on a bus nor do
they come to work crops. The immigrants you speak of jade are probably
legal green card holders.

They come here and take over blue collar jobs in construction and work
for less than half the wages a N.Carolinian can afford to work for. In
effect either forceing us out of jobs or accepting far less wages.

Fear not, compassion yes, compassion for friends and family who have
seen their wages decrease and their lifestyles dwindle. compassion for
these illegals (felons, I think) is what causes the problem to begin
with. I have compassion for all humans except when that compassion
begins to harm me and mine.

The problem will go away, and the way it goes away will depend upon how
long it is ignored. I will not ignore it, and already I have heard of
Americans (friends and family) talking of going to the local flea market
and making citizen arrest. Is that the way I want to see it happen, No!
Is it a possibility, yes, but one that will probably involve violence,
and I do not want to see that.

$997,000,, I pay taxes and have my whole life. I pay them foor road
improvements, hurricane relief so we dont call on FEMA to take on the
majority of costs for us. I pay them to improve our services of our
needy and elderly. I pay for improvements to schools for legal tax
paying citizen not for illegal non tax paying illegal immigrants.

Compassion is solving the illegal alien problem with legaislation before
the armed groups begin to solve it for theirselves. Thats compassion!!!

And I dont care what race they are Mexican, Gutamalan, nigaraguan,
Russia, whatever. It has nothing to do with race. It has everything to
do with America, and if the rest of the country ignores it, then like GA
it will have to do with being a North Carolinian. (Tarheel) by god!!!

Heath Shuler was elected, belive me. to replace an in cumbant of 30 yrs
(Charles Taylor) Washington can fool them selves, but it had a little to
do with the war and a whole lot to do with illegal immigration. The
others can be replaced as well, but Im not waiting on congress, I am
already pushing for the State and local Authorities to enforce current
laws like GA. I am not alone either trust me, so yall continue to make
excuses with no founding to support them save compassion. I seek real
solutions to real problems!!!

Considering how literally wide spread the problem has become, I don't
know how them being in any location would have a difference as to
whether or not they could be legal or illegal. But, if you have a
suspicion, here are a few links for reporting them yourself, without any
kind of violence, and I do think it is getting to the point where if
citizens don't do something, the criminals are going to take over.

Your Local FBI Office Field Divisions

The FBI encourages the public to report any suspected violations of U.S.
federal law. You can do so by calling your local FBI office, Legal
Attache office, or by submitting a tip via the FBI Tips and Public Leads
form.

You know I dont need help from a fake! For all I know you are an
illegal. Why do you hide behind a blue box, are you a coward?

Go ahead and call that number, I have it doesnt work. The FBI has no
juristiction without being invited by the local Sheriff to operate in
any of our counties.
Sure there are certain circumstances that allow it, but they arent
interested in stopping illegal immigration. INS could pick them up when
their visitation visas expire but they dont! Wht??????????dont know,
really!

Most that come here, and Ive asked them, fly on a commercial airline.
They have a visitation visa that allows them to come and visit family!
They just never leave when their time expires. They also have
established an underground of sorts where they are pivked up in Texas
and arrive in numbers. They are transported by other illegals.

Why do you hide behind a box and a fake profile?
Answer that.....

Fanta - Damn you are just too funny today. I am a fake but a cat is so
much more real? Ok, once again, have fun with that. By all means take
issue with simple links and such, instead of slanted rants. Or better
yet, get a mind of your own instead of following Alex's fantasies.
