Perhaps a good question is if Congress is doing a good job? Afterall it is voted for isn't it?

Concerning the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan there are too many mixed emotions on it.

Most Republicans feel that America should do a all offensive attack.

Liberals feel that enough lives have been lost and are pondering if it should be abandoned or have just enough troops to keep Afghanistan from having the Taliban retake it.

Concerning the Economy.

I think most Republicans feel that the stimulus package was a waste of tax payers money.

Liberals feel that it takes time before alot of the money can be effectively used. It is even considered that perhaps they will be needing another stimulus package. The secretary of treasury said it is too soon tell yet.

I hope for what it is worth that America will find a way to recreate jobs, have a healthcare that most of the country is happy with, and have bipartisan solutions to the many foreign affairs the country is involved in.

If not, I can imagine that somekind of civil war might happen. I hope not because I just paid for new windows for this building!

What do the dems feel? I noticed liberals mentioned and republicans but nothing on the dems.

I'm not sure america can make new jobs simply because as soon as they do, immigrants that will work cheaper than americans will get the jobs.

The stimulus package was ok, i'm sure it helped some of the people.

You make great, non partisan, points smiless,,, as usual.

I hope for the same things. Our government is interesting in that the president has the buck stop at his desk but yet he really has his hands tied without a congress that supports him. It should be an interesting term but I feel proud of the country and the OBamas and still pleased to have been a pert of his historic nomination.

Especially considering that Bush couldn't run again.

Yes, considering the short time he's been in.

And I could swear I've heard how the first 4 years are the effects of the previous president, and the next four are the president in offices effects, with another 4 year overlap into the new presidency.

Which is NOT what this plan will wind up being.

As I have pointed out before...

There will be a fine for any business that doesn't offer insurance. However, the fine will be less, monetarily, than the costs of the health insurance they would offer.

Any CEO worth his pay grade is going to realize that it's much cheaper to pay the fine than it is to offer the insurance.

The employees, meanwhile, will be fined if they don't buy insurance.

Then there will be no " option " for the employees.

I still maintain that, rather than have our inept, corrupt government try to run the health care business ( after all...just look at the bang up job they have done running the auto industry ) just allow the insurance companies to actually COMPETE with each other.

The more competition there is, the further prices fall. It's simple economics. Supply and demand would seem to be a pretty simple thing to grasp, but the Dems just don't seem to understand the entire concept.

Insurance companies, due to regulations, are not allowed to compete across state lines.

There may be several companies in your state, but if, for example, you live in Michigan, you wouldn't be able to get a quote from a company in New York.
