I just can't wait to see how the Global Warming hacks spin this one....lmao

It would seem that some hackers got hold of about 13 years worth of emails and documents from a leading climate research center. In those emails, there is mention of data manipulation and other " tricks " to make the data say that the world is warming up, even though it isn't.

From the UK Guardian
http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009/nov/20/climate-sceptics-hackers-leaked-emails

and just in case someone wants to claim the sources aren't credible...there are no fewer than 200 different news outlets carrying this story. They range from NPR to the New York Times, to the Wall Street Journal, MSNBC, Fox News, CNN...etc.

There will be no claims of only one side ( right or left ) carrying this story.

I heard about this yesterday along with the short little clip of
Al Gore flunking 4th grade science on hot the earth is just 2k's down... Millions of degrees....

I am wondering how he got the peace prize again...

Global warming... Maybe somewhere sometime...

Thanks for shareing like you state this is being picked up everywhere.

I think people misunderstanding, that's the problem. There might be a natural fluctuation of temperature cycles through the ages (colder decades, warmer decades or centuries, etc) but it has nothing to do with the carbon dioxide and it's not man-made.

Al-Gore just want to tax you for making too much carbon dioxide and that's wrong. Carbon Dioxide is what we breath out..and we might as well get taxed on it if it keeps going like this..

Still, there is no excuse for polluting the air with poisonous smoke..and fossil fuels needs to be replaced as energy source with something else, that's my opinion.

I agree with the fact that there should be cleaner ways to get energy.

Just don't blatantly lie to me about it to get me to go along.

That is exactly what these people have been doing for over a decade.

Considering that the planet naturally warms and cools as part of it's cycles, it is not a farce that there is global warming.

The only valid question is do we affect it.

Considering all living things affect their environment, it makes sense that we would affect the planet. So can we cause the planet to warm faster than it would naturally? I think they may have shown some evidence that we can.

Did you even read the article?? Or, perhaps, look at other articles on the same subject??

The emails that were released SHOW that the " evidence " was made up. They manipulated the data to make it appear that man was causing higher temperatures, while they have been, in actuality, been falling steadily for quite some time.

From your article:

"The veracity of the emails has not been confirmed and the scientists involved have declined to comment on the story, which broke on a blog called The Air Vent."

Not very reliable source here and why the hell would scientists lie for years and years about the planet warming due to all the garbage we do to the planet?

It just isn't even logical that it would be an endeavor worth all the time for what?

It doesn't do anything to tell us to stop poisoning our planet except make us stop doing it????

Oh god the horror of us working to make cleaner energy and such!!!!!

Uh huh. Anything to believe that they couldn't possibly have mislead us, right??

So..none of the scientists involved were willing to comment on the emails except to say that they very well could exist. That part wasn't in the article. That was just reported a little bit ago on a radio station out of L. A.

Not logical??? How about money being the logic. Haven't you read that Al Gore, since he owns a MAJOR piece of a " green " company, is all set to become the first " Green Billionaire "??

Have you not realized yet that government will do whatever it can to keep taking more and more money and more and more freedom from us?? What better way ( other than taking over the health care system ) is there than to make us live in fear and keep us thinking that they, and only they, know what's best for us?

Have you forgotten the stories about the government wanting to outlaw incandescent light bulbs?? Or did you just choose to ignore things like that?

Oh god the horror of us working to make cleaner energy and such!!!!!

This just proves, once again, that you simply and completely miss the whole point.

The fact is...THEY LIED ABOUT MAN'S EFFECT ON THE PLANET!!! They did absolutely nothing but fearmonger so that they could take over even more of our lives than they already have.

I do not argue the fact that we need to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and fossil fuels to create energy. But they have been lying through their teeth trying to keep us all in fear.

Think back a few years. remember how President Bush was utterly reviled for not signing the Kiyoto Treaty??

Turns out...he was right to not sign it.

The Leftists are just gonna LOVE that. LOL

As far as peoples belief in global warming, I doubt alleged emails will change the minds of those who believe what they believe. There will be green supporters and profit supporters, whatever information arises.

But belief in something that is PROVEN to be a lie is nothing more than delusion.

I tell ya what...if people see these emails, and the emails prove to be reliable..the people who continue to insist that " Global Warming " is caused by mankind are going to wind up putting themselves in the same frame as UFO/Bigfoot believers as far as the media is concerned.

Would the emails be proof though that the information shared was not credible or would it prove that individual scientists shared differing thoughts about it over emails? I think it will be a hard case to prove beyond any doubt. Emails still remain fairly private venues for sharing thoughts and opinions, they are not proof by themself of action that may or may not have been taken. I would be more interested in seeing the actual research and seeing proof that the research , as it was shared, was ORDERED to be incomplete or misleading.

The emails themselves probably wouldn't be damning enough....but the hackers also got something like 3000 documents that back up what is said in those emails.

Not to mention, these emails and documents came from the server of one of the biggest climate research centers where a lot of the info used in the Pro Global Warming sector came from.
