Just be careful get to know him first. Ya never know actually till you
meet them face to face for alot of the times what was there is no
longer there once you meet them. take things slow. And be
careful.

There are so many types of "love"...sure you can love him as a friend.
Can you be "in" love with him with out meeting him, I say NO. Honestly,
you don't even know the real him yet. Sure, you can send emails and talk
on the phone and develope a wonderful friendship and trust me, that is a
great way to begin things. The real story will be when you meet each
other in person.
Will there be a real connection? You will know the first minute you look
at him! The real question is this...do we ever really know anyone? I
truly believe the answer to this question is no. I think you can be with
someone for years and really not know them, some people WON'T let you
know them.
I say this, you are young, so just take your time. Be careful and don't
make any decisions with out really thinking a very long time about
things!!

First of all, I'm very sorry for your loss, as well as the loss of a
fellow soldier. You're a very strong person for having been able to
cope with it.

As far as the topic;

Love is a very strange thing. I don't think I could say weather or not
it's possible to love someone you've never physically met, but what I
will say is just go with it. If you feel you have a real connection
with this guy, tell him. Be honest with him, and with yourself. He
took the chance and dove in headfirst to tell you how he feels, even if
you don't feel the same way, you should return the favor. I think if
more people would just take the chance and speak their mind, love
wouldn't be such a confusing thing.
