It seems prescription drugs have changed. They no longer have the smoothness or the buzz they used to have. Last night I couldn't sleep so I took a Tramadol. I slept but had bad vivid dreams. Today I feel like I went on a binge of some kind with a bad taste in my mouth & a headache. Whatever happened to Seconals, Nembutals, etc? They did the job.
{No, I don't want to eat wheat germ, take long hot baths, read the dictionary or gargle warm milk.}

I took 90mg's of Adderall a day for, like, 6 years and felt invincible. Quit takin' em' and felt like a moldy dish sponge for months. UUgghh! I can't take em' anymore but I still have dreams about em'.

I don't know. The only narcotics I've ever been given are dilaudin and vicodin. Vicodin doesn't do a damn thing for me. Dilaudin was great, but they don't let you take that stuff home with you from the hospital.

I used Melatonin. Works great, but I don't really have major sleep problems.

Tramadol made me irritable after 2 days. After my surgery this summer, someone made a mistake <ahem-try proving it> and i have severe nerve damage. Flexerill(10mgs) is non narcotic, a muscle relaxer but 1/2 helps me with anxiety and sleep- and I wake up the next morning clear headed!. I told my md this and she put me on it instead of zanax or ambiem (tried both). I took lortab but after while, not much was getting done- lotsa fun tho:wink:laugh , percoset keeps me up a extra hour or two but sleep is much better. What is the tramadol for?
(BTW- nice Pic)

The worst pills ever have to be anti-psychotics. They make you totally retarded and ya' feel like yr dressed in fiberglass insulation. At first the tried me on Risperdal but the side effects were intolerable so they put me on Zyprexa, then Geodon, then Lamictal...god...they were all equally hideous.

I can't take Ambien or Lunesta to sleep. They make me sleep drive and stuff

but I take Restoril (temezepam) they are kinda related to valium

those make me sleep and not wake up every 15 minutes

Agreed. Someone asked what the Tramadol was prescribed for and it was for migraine headaches, which are minimal these days. I've had a dull pressure headache since last night when I took Tramadol.
Usually I'll take a low dose Xanax to sleep when needed. Ambien makes me dream about myself in a concrete room with snakes and zebras, etc. Time to see the doctor again (or go to Ocean Beach, ha ha!).
As soon as the FDA finds out people are happy with a drug they pull it or alter it.

Risperdal...Zyprexa, and Lamictal. We have more in common than I first assumed, which of course even then was still an awful lot.

Stay away from anti-psychotics, those things will **** you sideways and make sure you are never the same. Used to take the three I noted at seperate times, day to day life was about mush and I couldn't sleep because I kept hallucinating (moreso than I do normally). Stopped taking all meds after that flop, did the anti-depressants for years, anti-psychotics for a few more years. Neither did me any good so I quit taking all meds and decided to mediate my condition by myself...which is working far better than medication.

Benadryl makes me want to iron socks. Too speedy for me.
Brownies? Made a batch awhile back and wanted to go lay down on cold linoleum.
Never had trouble sleeping until I ended up alone in my house. Boogy Man Syndrome.

Even with the dog(s?)? I feel safe having them around.
I tired for years to go without. Tryptophan (SPELLING??!!) until they took it off the market, Kava Kave taken out of Nevada, can send for it, melantonin works but taking it alot can do bodily harm (or so they say). Yes, everything thats somewhat decent...they don't want us to have ...I beleive the big G put grass here for exactly what we need to relax, think. It's the only thing that isn't tampered with by people (unless of course those who are adding things to it- but thats not the govt). Naturally tho, it's supposed to be our catnip. bigsmile

I think for me since most of the prescribed sleeping pills give me horrific side effects. I prefer tylenol pm with a cup of lavendar and decaf earl grey. Works like a charm

I agree. The problem is worrying about what people put in it.
