LYRICS TO CANDLES IN THE RAIN

Little sisters of the sun lit
candles in the rain,
fed the world on oats and raisins
candles in the rain
li the fire to the soul
who never knew his friend
meher baba lives again
candles in the rain
to be there is to remember
lay it down again
lay down
lay down
lay it down again
men can live as brothers
candles in the rain....

LYRICS TO LAY DOWN (CANDLES IN THE RAIN)

CHORUS
lay down lay down, let it all down
let your white birds smile up at the ones who stand and frown
lay down lay down, let it all down
let your white birds smile up at the ones who stand and frown
we were so close, there was no room
we bled inside each others wounds
we had caught the same disease
and we all sang songs of peace
CHORUS
so raise the candles high cause if you
don't we could stay black against the night
oh raise them higher again and if you
do we could stay dry against the rain
CHORUS
we were so close there was no room
we bled inside each others wounds
we had caught the same disease
and we all sang songs of peace
some came to sing, some came to pray
some came to keep the dark away
so raise the candles high
cause if you don't we could stay
black against the sky
oh oh raise them higher again
and if you do we could stay dry against the rain
CHORUS...

Title: Yell Fire

A revolution never come with a warning
A revolution never sends you an omen
A revolution just arrived like the morning
Ring the alarm, we come to wake up the snoring

They tellin' you to never worry about the future
They tellin' you to never worry about the torture
They tellin you that you'll never see the horror
Spend it all today and we will bill you tomorrow
Three piece suits and bank accounts in Bahamas
Wall street crime will never send you to the slammer
Tell all the children in the arms of their mommas
The F-15 is a homicide bomber

TV commercials for a popping pill culture
Drug companies circling like a vulture
An Iraqi babies with a G.I. Joe father
Ten years from now is anyboby gonna bother

Yell Fire, yo, yo ,yo
Here we come, here we come
Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo
Revolution a comin'
Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo
Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo

Everyone addicted to the same nicotine
Everyone addicted to the same gasoline
Everyone addicted to a technicolour scream
Everybody trying to get their hands on same green
From the banks of the river to the banks of the greedy
All of the riches taken back by needy
We come from the country and we come from the city
You play us on the record, you can play us on the CD
All the **** you given us is fertilizer
The seeds that we planted you can brutalize them
Tell the corporation you can never globalize you
Like Peter Toss said Legalize It
Girls and boys hear the bass and treble
Rumble in the speakers and it make you wanna rebel
Throw your hands up, take it to another level
And you can never, ever, ever make a deal with the devil

Yell Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo
Here we come, here we come
Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo
Revolution a comin'
Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo
Fire, yo, yo, yo, yo

I suspect this man is English. That is why he uses the term "girl". Maybe he doesn't realize we like to be called women. There's a cultural difference. A small cultural difference that could start a war. I try to forgive the British. But it's really hard. They're so much more advaaaanced socially. There is said it. I am prejudiced and I admit it.

Women are naturally wise. Only over-matured girls can post self-insulting messages revealing how mentally and emotionally dysfunctional they are. That jester girl is fun. -- I love Mingle.

[Mygenerationbaby, if you want to know my nationality, you may check my profile here. That “Star#1” (or whatever her nick is) has checked. -- As the result the Mingle software sent me an auto-message that she is 33 from Canada. Would you be prejudiced knowing that a Canadian girl soils herself trying to curse an American man? Though I do not understand the nationality based right to be right no matter what.]

--

I agree with the post that says, Stupidity (shifting from micro to macro level) is the impetus of wars that have no valid reasons. Therefore when somebody posts stupid anti-American statements (claiming nonsensical accusations against the US government), we should name the statements as they are, inane and treacherously stupid. The author of such statements is an anti-American provocateur.

War is the last resort when we have to defend our country. However when instead of fighting real terrorism we had invaded Iraq (because it was “available”), we have started the war without a valid reason. It is hypocrisy to try convincing the four-thousand-plus American families who have lost their sons, daughters, husbands, and relatives in Iraq; convincing them that the war in Iraq is “natural” and “useful for economy.” Such declaration is untruthful and cynical (especially knowing about billions dollars the US government is spending now to recover Iraq after the war). Such war is “unnatural.” Have you ever seen blood and physical pain? Maybe you’ve seen the American Soldiers movie. -- It shows one day of American soldiers who pour their blood in Iraq. It is not Sci-Fi, it is real.

Our military has won the war and continue supporting stability in that country, while politicians are losing this war. We are carelessly losing potential economic benefits from Iraq giving up the benefits to Chinese, Italians, Malaysians, Ukrainians, etc.

“Can you handle the truth?”If not, sorry for bothering the charming party.

Anyway it was a great thread in spite of few boo boos. I agree with majority of participants. I think our society is on the right track.

Let's Play
Verse 1
By Gloria Jean
April 3, 2003

Let's play the game of powers,
a contest to the finish,
destroy the tallest towers,
see who we can diminish.
Let's play the game of lies
and see what folks believe;
let's see who money buys,
let's practice to deceive.

Let's play the game of wars,
a blood bath to the death;
my people against yours
until their final breath.

Let's break each other's heart
then revel in the pain,
Let's tear the place apart
and build it up again.

Let's Play
Verse 2
Sept. 11, 2005

Let's play the game disaster
And help the death along
Let's flood the city faster
Even if its wrong.
Let's terrorize the masses
And break their stubborn will
Let's give commando classes
And teach them how to kill.

Let's play the game of drugs
And tell them that "we try!"
Let's pull out all the plugs
And drain their pockets dry.

Let's break the people's heart
then celebrate their pain,
Let's tear the place apart
and build it up again

Have you already forgotten 9/11 -- just 8 years ago???

9-11 was not a war.

Anyone who knows or has seen a controlled demolition of a building KNOWS that those buildings were taken down on purpose by order of the owner of the building. It was all a scam. Don't believe the bull crap about the war on terror. That incident was an inside job. And the truth about that is worse than what you think it was.

War is about profits. Everything else is propaganda. As long as three people exist on the planet one will make money by convincing the other two to war on each other.

This is the truth. Especially "everything else is propaganda" part.
War is about stealing the real wealth. The terrorists are the leaders of nations who incite people to war, tell us who we are supposed to hate, and the media who spout what they are told to spout to mold public opinion.

It was my intention to provoke thoughts..thoughts of universal peace and love. Mutual respect for all life... of like minded beings who desire peace in our world and our universe. That kind, caring and not so unique individuals after all, humans... would feel the sense of urgency to pull together and attempt at changing our world. Instead it has turned into the judgment and hatefulness that continues to propel us into the very wars we are protesting...ohwell

That is because that is the way the subconscious works. By thinking that you will not dream of bunnies, you dream of bunnies.

By being against war, you cause people to think of war.

Instead of talking "peace" just be peace.

The word "peace" is suggestive. It suggests the opposite "war."

If there were no such thing as "war" there would be no word for "peace."

Peace would just be a natural state of affairs.

Each are responsible for their own thoughts. This op speaks of both, war and peace... therefore the choice was there for each who posted after. Some responded in a peaceful manner others made a different choice, a different way to express themselves.
Everything is subjective..

If someone is threatening my life and family then you can bet I'll go to war.

I'm different. I want to know why would anyone threaten me to hurt me or my family.

Early on I noticed, that in USA, the people hate the "why" question so much, that they never ask it.

Are you really serious -- comparing all of the underlined incidents with 9/11, the greatest mass murder in the US history? ? ? -- two of the tallest skyscrapers in the city PLUS two airplanes full of people??? The death count exceeded 2000 (as far as I remember)!!!

Be careful, darling: by criticising the American way, you're risking being labelled "Anti-American"!!! (as LashV1200 labelled me -- in the abscence of a better argument -- because I proved him wrong/naive and Illogical! * So, as a last resort of saving his bruised ego, he tried playing a "patriotic card" -- in an effort of enticing some missing support for his "illogical" views"!!! Yeh. Where did criticizing the government (any government) suddenly become labeled "anti-(insert any country here)?" I can answer that question. It is when the government needs to be criticized and they can't defend themselves against the truth that 'they' resort to that tactic.

Criminals are criminals. Just because you are 'government' or hold a position in the government does not mean you are above the law. Or at least it should not mean that. If it does, then we are not a free country.

"The government" is not the country. THE PEOPLE are the country. When the people see that their government is not doing the job they were elected by them to do, then they have the duty, not just the right, the DUTY to criticize and over throw the criminals who themselves are betraying the country.(Which is the people.)

The significant problems we have cannot be solved at the same level of thinking with which we created them. -Albert Einstein

reflecting on my previous post-

We invaded for all the wrong reasons and I've always hated the war in Iraq, but if we can help them to build a healthy democracy it would make a huge positive impact on the world. Could this have been achieved without the bloodshed?

This question came to mind again recently and it brought up non-violent revolutionists-

Martin Luther King Jr.had a huge impact on civil rights in America.

Mahatma Gandhiled India to independence through peaceful civil disobediance

Jesus Christ(religious beliefs aside) has had by far the biggest impact on the western world by peaceful revolution.

These men held ideals whitch only grew stronger with violent persecution and more powerful with their deaths.

I wonder how we could practice 'peaceful' civil disobedience here in America?

Not pay taxes? bigsmile

climber83's photo
Mon 01/04/10 02:17 PM
Yeah!!! No more taxes! Take the Power Back! Wait...errr... don't know if that would work.

Veering off subject a little-
First of all I think that tax law should be made simpler so that the common layman can understand it, and make it mandatory curriculum in high schools for ***** sake!
Then give the people more control over where it goes.

What do you think would happen if every American over the age of 18 had every cent of their tax dollars put into their own tax account. Then every quarter they were required to choose from a magazine of options on where to put it.
Some may give to fixing potholes on their street
some may give to education or medicare
some may give to development
some may give to nature preserve
Some may give to disaster relief funds
some may give to the peace core or medical research
some who feel threatened may give it to our armies
some may give to politicians they like and trust to spend it for them

this would force people to be aware of our surroundings and care
We can really test our "By the people, for the people" stance

I think media would take on a whole new face, dealing with real issues more-so than mindless, useless entertainment.

Sure, we would go through a slump at first
and there is always going to be lazy, reckless or destructive spenders
but we would have money coming from 300,000,000 places
It can't be worse than where our money goes now

In Seattle we paid millions of dollars into a new monorail construction initiative witch the voters repeatedly said they didn't want!

We paid millions into putting ugly brass fish on a section of free way wall! WTF? And they call that art?

the list goes on and on

My point is that if the people who blindly paid there taxes have more control over where it goes the percentage of where it needs to go would go up.

don't know if this is a new theory but it's new to me and it was fun to kick around
it might be chaos but it might work, getting there is another story

Peace! flowerforyou

Peace is easy. Just practice love and the law of allowance.

Allow people to be free. Allow people to worship how they choose. Allow people to keep their earnings. (no taxes) bigsmile

Income tax is voluntary. There is no law in the United States that states that you have to pay income tax.

The only reason Al Capone went to jail for income tax evasion was for selling alcohol out of the country.(Canada) and not paying taxes on it. Selling it within the United States and not paying taxes on your income from it is not against the law. Selling it out of the country and not paying taxes on the income from it, is.

Peaceful resistance. Don't pay income tax.

Thank you Jesus and Gandhi.bigsmile
