"
Fox News host Steve Doocy was forced to backtrack Tuesday after a guest called him out over a seemingly transparent racist quip in which he declared that all the suspects who'd tried to blow up American airliners "look alike."

"Critics argue when you think about it, for the most part, all of the people who try to blow airliners out of the sky look alike," Doocy said.

"False," rejoined Council on Islamic-American Relations spokesman Ahmed Rehab. "False information. Not true. The last guy -- I mean, we don't have to go far. The last guy that tried to take down a plane was a young African. And in the past, prior to that incident, we were looking for Middle eastern-looking men. Next time it could be an Asian guy.

"So no," Rehab added, "they don't always look alike."

"Right," Doocy replied, backtracking. "And you could go back a number of years and it was Timothy McVeigh, a blond hair, blue eyed guy."

"Or Richard Reid, who was half Jamaican, half British."

Earlier in the clip, Doocy complained that his wife was forced to be subjected to a TSA pat down each time she travels because of a knee replacement, positing that she didn't fit a normal terrorist profile. Doocy's "look alike" comments appear at 2:35 in the clip below.

Photographs of Reid, who tried to blow up an airliner in 2001, and Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the alleged "Christmas Day" bomber who tried to take down a plane over Detroit, follow.

he should not have said this, but on the other hand, it is false to attribute such a sentiment to republicans in america and ONLY republicans.

You'd have to look hard to find any liberal or Democrat people who'd say such a thing...this fit's FOCK's MO to the tee.

Like Harry Reid's comments about President Obama before the election that's a rare thing and he retracted it, apoligized for the context....you have to catch FOCKS red-handed to even get an acknowledgment of their errors.

So yeah, it's heavy on the GOP and T-bagger side...they seem to own ignorances and racisms...(sorry, oxymoron there by default)

Wow you take a one comment and brand Republicans "racists" What about "I forgot that he was black!" comment made by ignorant commentator Chris Matthews on MSNBC. Or Donny Deutsch "coconut" remark regarding to Marco Rubio. Or.... Jon Stewart's "festival of whites" comment on his show.... Don't give me this hypocrisy bull when your own bitter party is bombing racist comments left and right!

By the way I didn't have to look very hard

The Republican party has in my lifetime been the party most associated with racism...now FOCKS (who is a GOP propaganda outlet) has another group they blow call the T-bag party...and yeah they are a diverse crowd..lol.

Stewart is a comedian who uses...uh..satire maybe? Donny Deutsch wasn't meaning to...here's his reply: "I said 'coconut' meaning simple, goofy, bananas...wasn't even aware it could be a racially charged word."

"one comment"...BS, I've seen a lifetime of blatant RW nutbag racisms.

Here's another example...just last week:

"Tancredo’s assertion that it was ignorant Americans who “can’t spell the word ‘vote’ or say it in English” are responsible for electing the “socialist ideologue”, Barak Hussein Obama, led him to the conclusion that perhaps the historic practice of civic literacy tests should be reinstated.

Literacy tests were a product of notoriously racist Jim Crow laws, which were historically designed to discourage black voters from participating in the political arena.

I'm not going to read some Kool-aid infused crap that you read. I'm a conservative-republican that isn't a racist! Like most conservatives and/or Republicans are not racist, but you have a deep down hatred for the party and you make assumptions that are blatantly false. Your ignorance is epic.

I didn't read this the first time, I heard the racist prick say these racist things on video at the T-bag convention,...or is that CPAC...what's the difference really? I doubt many of the youth in the NW can understand the racist American history of the south...I lived it, I know it...I am certainly not ignorant. Crack(er) a book open sometime.

Considering that racists make excuses that make themselves believe they are not racist. Do you ever think they will fess up?

Republican/conservative party house most of the racists in this country because their ideals go well with a racists ideals. I know that sucks for the unracist republican/conservatives but they are the only ones who can clean out their party of the racist sludge.

This partisan nonsense is all BS. The dems (like Andrew Jackson) tried hard to wipe out Indians in the 19th century and the repubs killed plenty of people in the Whiskey Rebellion and their various war incursions. There's plenty of blood on the hands of both parties' elites, and has been since they began.

I'm all for racial profiling especially when it comes to getting on a plane at a airport.Anyone who has mohammad in their name I am not trusting or am I getting on a airplane with them. You can say what ever you want but anyone with half a brain is going to be a nervous wreck getting on a plane with a woman wearing a burka or 4 guys with mohammad in their name.Their may be a billion Muslims in the world but there is only a few million in America and until the Muslims in America stand up and say that they are ready to stop this holy war and live in peace with the Christians I will continue to be suspicious and will profile.I totally understand their is peaceful muslims that will not cause any trouble. But I am firmly convinced that given the chance, and if they could get away with it they would kill every Jew and Christian on this planet. To this day I have not heard a single positive word towards the Christians or the Jews coming from any Muslim.

You're right 'thomas3474',

I mean, what's the world come to,
... when the most powerful military nation in the world can no longer go around oppressing the 'little ones', and ripping them of their natural resources, solely for the Empire insatiable needs, seeding riches in the hands of chosen friendly dictators, and fomenting 'civil wars' with no tomorrows in sight,
... AND THESE UNGRATEFUL 'LITTLE ONES' DARE BARK BACK AT THE EMPIRICAL ONE!?!?!?

What if we were to take on the end of this 'holy war' you speak of, ourselves, instead of waging war on the one hand, and praying for an end on the other?!?
The Empirical power taking things in its own hands so to speak? I mean after all, we are the 'superpower' of the world!

What if it were as simple as :

- STOPPING ALL INTERVENTIONS IN THE ISRAELO-PALESTINIAN CONFLICT.

- STOPPING IMMEDIATELY ALL SELF INTERESTED MEDDLING IN THE MIDDLE-EAST, AND OTHER NATURAL RESOURCES RICH REGIONS OF THE GLOBE.

I bet you anything, next time you would be standing in line waiting for a flight, you would be having a friendly conversation with 'Muhammed', instead of having this prejudice based sentiment of terror you seem so attached to today.

What do you say!?!?!? Worth a try!?!?!?

Humm, let's see, some would like us to forget the present day racisms because of the harsher racisms of the past, other's would like to revise recent history to defend their party of racists in, and then some even go as far as to totally miss the point here that the remarks from the GOP propaganda outlet likes to present our "clear and present danger" as Muslims.

I've heard publically from some on other sites that "we should kill ALL Muslims". Now, we know that many of the T-baggers think President Obama is a Muslim...

http://www.usatoday.com/news/religion/2008-04-01-obama-muslim_N.htm

"Houston, we have a problem"

So, about 30 million Americans are totally whacked out, brainless, spineless, clueless idiots who just follow the blinding red ball.

We should watch all potential terrorists and not tag it to any one skin color or religion...and that's including the ones that call themselves T-baggers and as well the RW Christian crusaders (the other jihadists). These people are our domestic terrorists...even if it's just murdering the English language they pose a danger...

First of all, Harry Reid only copped to it after the media ran with it. I am from Nevada, I have met Harry Reid and the guy is a wiesel.

Second of all take a history class. Who is the party that faught for segregation? C'mon, it's not hard...... It was the Democratic Party! Let me give you a little clip on verified history from Wikipedia......

"During the 1960s, the Klan was involved in numerous acts of violence and terrorism. The assassination of Medgar Evers, on June 12, 1963 in Jackson, Mississippi, was another episode in the Klan's violent campaign against racial integration and civil rights for African-Americans. De La Beckwith was twice tried for murder in 1964. Both trials ended in mistrials with the all-white jury unable to reach a verdict. In the second trial, former Democratic Governor Ross Barnett interrupted the proceedings -while Myrlie Evers was testifying- to shake hands with Beckwith.

In the following years, he became a leader in the pro-segregationist Phineas Priesthood, a branch of the white supremacist Christian Identity Movement; a cause known for its espousing of hostility towards not only blacks, but also Jews, Catholics, and foreign-born American citizens specifically, as well as the United States Federal Government. According to Delmar Dennis (key witness for the prosecution at his 1994 trial), De La Beckwith boasted of his role in the death of Medgar Evers at several Ku Klux Klan rallies and other similar gatherings in the years following his mistrials. In 1967, he unsuccessfully sought the Democratic Party's nomination for Lieutenant Governor of Mississippi."

Thank goodness most people of good sense and rational judgment are endowed with the whole brain, not merely half-and apparently, the worst half, at that.
