I try to never "assume" anything.. If I'm in a relationship it's b/c we both want to be there and we've discussed it.. Don't get me wrong, sometimes it "just happens" but if that's the case then both want to be there....

I would say when two come to the agreement not to see anyone else but each other and make it exclusive. And normally if your still dating after 3-4 dates and both are enjoying each other then your pretty much on your way......

At what point (to you) does it become a relationship? When it is expressed? after a certain number of dates and/or communication? It ought to be explicitly discussed. Everyone has different standards and subcultural norms, and there has been a huge amount of heart break and needless resentment and negativity because of assumptions people have made about where they stood with someone. So in my book, its not a committed relationship until both parties explicitly state their level of interest. |
