Okay all these years I thought I was 5'2 1/2 now not saying that is very tall but hey it was kewl...
 Well lately have had a friend that has been ribbing me with the short jokes and he swears I'm not 5'2 1/2. Of course I stand my ground and tell him I'm so...  Well today I decided to see who was right so I get my daughter to get out the measuring tape I take off my shoes and she made sure my hair was not adding any height....   Then the moment comes she says Mom your only 5'1 Shshhshs now that is just not right   Hummmm So who has actually taken the time to really measure their height without the shoes and found out your true height? And how tall did you find out you really are?  |

Were you cold when you were measured? Sometimes this causes shrinkage........

i suppose the doctor's office is pretty accurate, so i'm sticking with my 5'4 1/2
 don't worry tho txs, you still stand tall on mingle!

i suppose the doctor's office is pretty accurate, so i'm sticking with my 5'4 1/2 don't worry tho txs, you still stand tall on mingle! Awwwww thank you....... But........then my daughter tells me Mom I never thought ya was as tall as ya said for I'm 5'4 and I'm a lot taller then you are

Well one year at the doc she said I was 5'5 then a couple months later I was 5'4 3/4..RAWR!! Then I go again about a year later and Im 5'5.

Remember, your kid may have dropped an inch on ya.... Kids and thier games! I did that to mine..... I remember the payback.... Problem is it was not my daughter that was ribbing me it is a guy I know and well he is no jolly green giant himself for he is at most 5'7. But...........hell I even make him feel tall

And how tall did you find out you really are? 5'2 IS tall compared to me..lol..I'm like 4'6..sooo at 5'2 you were a giant..lol..I can't measure myself like everyone else does so I might not really be even that tall..BUT the upside for me is that I am always sitting so no one can truly tell if I am short or not..lol |

5'2 IS tall compared to me..lol..I'm like 4'6..sooo at 5'2 you were a giant..lol..I can't measure myself like everyone else does so I might not really be even that tall..BUT the upide for me is that I am always sitting so no one can truly tell if I am short or not..lol Girlfriend your tiny my grandmother was only 4'11 so guess I can say I took my height from her......

pregnancy can make you shrink...so you might have been taller before having your kiddo, lol.

Yup..I'm itty bitty..but there are two reasons for that..my grandma was only 4'11 or 4'8(They werent sure) my aunt is 4'8 or 4'11..she isnt sure either..lol..and my mama is only 5'2..and me having SB doesn't help at all..lol..sooooooo yup I was doomed from before birth to be short. |

And how tall did you find out you really are? Just a thought: Who's say that you didn't dry up like an old prune, over time...you know "dry out" a little or shrivel up like a fruit?  Also who's to say that the measuring device didn't stretch over your head...making your 5'2" to now show as 5'1"! The device could be degrading due to age...   |

The older you get the shorter you get due to the spine being compressed.
