It's an interesting Greek myth. I've heard variations on it in other cultures. From a literal standpoint, no, I don't believe in it. But one might be able to make a case for it with some of the lower lifeforms and their abilities to parthenogenetically reproduce or even change sex if needed.

I do believe in soul circles, and that they can actually overlap others. I don't think we're stuck with a certain group of people through lifetimes.

I don't really believe in soul mates, as in a one specific person only. I believe there can be more. I do belive in "anam cara's" or "soul-friends". Anam Cara is the Celtic term, but each culture has their own version of it.

I also believe you are drawn to certain cultures that resonate with your soul, even if you aren't part of that culture in this lifetime.

Ok..so..I was watching Bones the other day and they brought up the topic of Soulmates..They mentioned something that I am not too sure wether I think its cute or creepy..lol..I went and looked it up and they were serious..This is what they talked about:

One story about soulmates, presented by Aristophanes in Plato's Symposium, is that humans originally consisted of four arms, four legs, and a single head made of two faces, but Zeus feared their power and split them all in half, condemning them to spend their lives searching for the other half to complete them.

What do you guys think?laugh

i think it depends on whether you believe in greek mythology or not.

personally, i don't believe in soulmates.

. . .
