I named my son Michael 26 years ago. Surprised to still find it's on the list as top 10 now. It ranks in at a #3. I named him Michael not only because it was popular but because I loved the name!!!!:

I never read the books or saw the movies..then when it got sooooo popular I was glad I didn't.. none of my boys got into either.

The books are actually really good, but you would never know it based on the movies
 I was pretty against reading them until my MOTHER read the entire series and said they were definitely worth reading. My mom doesn't read cheesy romance novels so I knew I could trust her judgement. |

She is and since the Twilight series came out she's written another book called "The Host" which I would also recommend. (not at all like Twilight)
