Why must women be so picky when we are all here to gain. They are all not prize winners either but they think they are.WHATS UP WITH THAT.

Oh really......we are not prize winners..........just the other day saw a man walk into his own vehicle staring at me.......actually it was quite funny, LMAO, but do not think I ever entered any competitions.........

Gee, I could very well ask that same question. Why do men only want younger and dumb women that look like models? Why do men turn away a woman that can do things for herself with their egos being affected? Why, because they can. So men are just as picky as women.

Everyone deserves what they want in life. Discriminating or not – it’s their life to live.

Settling is poisonous. Why be miserable with someone you are not completely happy with for the rest of your life. That’s just silly. It wastes the time of both people and heartbreak is sure to happen.

Settling also creates baggage and a trail of dysfunction.

I’d rather be single and selective than in a relationship because I took just any ‘ol guy.

And beware of Men Divas! Talk about total headaches. UGH! laugh

 I love it, most of us have been busted up by someone else at some point in our lives, so we are going to be so careful that to not "lower" our demands that we are going to go through life demanding perfection in someone we select. What a crock of ****. Any one of you who is single because it is all the other persons fault just post your freaking name and say so. I am dang certainly not perfect, and I am nervous as heck to get in another relationship, and I admit I'm chicken. So go ahead, deep your expectationhs so high that any futer mate has to be worthy to be hung on a cross, and you know what, I hope you enjoy the crap out of single life cause that is all you are ever gonna have. I hope y'll enjoy thinking about haaving no one around for companionship the rest of you lives.

just my pennies worth.

You are generalizing quite a bit.

I for one have never been brutally hurt from a former relationship and I don’t hold baggage regarding fear of commitment.

Taking the lessons from past relationships has taught me what to look for in a potential mate as well as what to avoid.

I don’t believe I NEED a relationship. I will be just fine if I am forever single. What’s the point of being with someone if they are not right – and a person is wasting their time?

Find a person that compliments rather than a person that complicates. Be comfortable in your own skin – be independent – and everything will fall into place.

Perfection, as you cited, is subjective. You deserve your "perfect" and I deserve my "perfect". I guarantee they will not be near the same type of person but they will be ‘perfect’ for each of us. Perfection has flaws but the compromise a person is willing to make is why one person maybe tailored for another.

You don't have to run for the exit. flowerforyou You are entitled to your opinion as is everyone else. If you post something definately come back to reply. You don't want to be the "post and run" member. laugh

laugh I may be chicken, but I do face the music for what I post...lol...and it is necesary to generalize to some extent because, as in every statement, there are many exceptions, and you must decide whether or not you are the exception, but do it honestly. I know my "requirements" for my next, if their is one, relationship are high. In fact, I have a list of 100 requirements, in order, that are required at this moment, and the list changes every time I think of it. Will I ever meet anyone to match it, nope. It is a fun excercise. Try it, you will be surprised how petty the stuff you want really is.
And yes, everyones perfect is different. Funny thing is that most of our perfects we would never have a relationship with because we would feel to inadequate to be with them.

A list? scared I hope you are kiddint! slaphead

I have preferences for sure but regardless of those preferences - when I meet the right guy - it all goes out the window! drinker

I take the "picky" to mean that no matter how closely the match might be to your expectations, we tend to say "OK, she matches all this stuff I think I am looking for, but...(invent new requirement that she does not match." That, IMO, is how we protect ourselves from risking a relationship beyond the level in the forums and emailing

I understand what you are saying. I think there is a subtle difference though.

Selective vs. commitment-phobe.

Let’s face it, when the chemistry is right the “list” is null and void.

If a person is stuck on the minutia of a few characteristics then one of two things are the problem:

1. The chemistry is missing; it’s all good on paper but you feel nothing in person.
2. The person is afraid of commitment and is looking for excuses not to compromise the little things.
