There is a tree on a corner round here that has been dubbed, "The Wisdom Tree.'

It has been said, when nobody's under the tree, they're out collecting knowledge...

Share if you will, your profound knowledge upon us...

For example... Once a snapping turtle has bitten you, it wont let go until sunset.

Please, enlighten me...

If you tickle it's nostril with a blade of grass it lets go. Learned that at a young age watching a neighborhood kid get one stuck on his nose.

well if it has to be profound, then I certainly am challenged as I spend most of my time in the shade. But I will try. How is this?

if u place a shallow pan of water under muffins, cake or quickbreads when u bake them, the bottom won't burn & it won't dry out. Try to put the tray of water in as you preheat (before the batter)

The Wild Ginger that grows in the woods behind ur house is in a diffrent plant family than the root u purchase at the grocery but they taste much the same. If u get a bit of root (do not do this in a protected park or reserve area) wash well and score it - to release flavor- steep in ur tea - very tasty

Indians and others, boiled the roots of cattails. They may need twice boiled if it's late summer

Lambquarters are a weed that grow up in ur garden especially after ur done in a place and no longer weeding it- they taste like spinach when boiled & eaten with butter - my kids think this is a normal vegetable prolly

When you get hayfever (allergies) it is NOT to the goldenrod, it is to the regweed that grows along with it- it is highly allergic and gives its neighbor goldenrods a bad name. Goldenrods actaully make a lovely back drop for a fall garden along wiht mature asparagus fronds.

how'm I doin'? I could go on forever as these are the things that I think are profoundflowerforyou (who needs a gorcery store?laugh )
