Last night I was thinking of Greek Myths and Legends. There's books, movies and lots of them, all saying the same thing.
Then there's the Old Testament. Hmm, do we see alot of similarity? I do. They were both written by people, from hand me down tales of long ago. The Greek Gods had all the emotions as The Jealous mean God of the Bible. Did alot of punishment, bribery and favoritism.
Maybe they were all aliens who did run the show for awhile, and left, give up in disgust.
In other words, to beleive the Bible, I have to beleive the other legends. Just because one incited churches to make money then worship and for centuries insited fear to behave, what are the real differences that can make one more plausible than the other? None.
One thing for mankind, we have great imaginations. I have seen people do things, a old toothless man crumple up a peice of paper and drop it, it exploding into flames; a vet move a pencil back and forth by his mind...maybe we are descending from aliens. I'd love to see a mother ship arrive one day and tell us all what idots we are; how they made the change in Evolution as a experiemnt..Maybe they are whom we call God.

There are some who follow Zecharia Sitchin and his theory of the aliens...that would make it all about the gold though and how un important we really are. I think were more valuable than that...I could be completely wrong.

I could write a biography and chances are there would be 'alot' of similarities between my life and the 'lives' of many other fictional female single mothers. The truth is , unless we are THERE to see and hear and touch it, I will always feel that what we read in books is only learned through faith in their accuracy and the integrity of those writing it. I personally have that faith in the Bible that I dont have in mere 'legends'. Noone should fake their faith or feel pressured into it. If it isnt sincere, its pointless. So if you dont FEEL faith in some books, dont believe them. The wonderful thing is we all have the CHOICE to believe or not.

Lecrae feat. Tedashii "Aliens"

[Chorus]
Aliens! Strangers in Places, foreign in lands that we are in
Call us peculiar, but know that we are
Aliens! Strangers in Places, foreign in lands that we are in
Call us peculiar, but know that we are
Aliens! Aliens! Strangers in Places, foreign in lands that we are in
Call us peculiar, but know that we are Aliens!

[Verse One]
A - A whole notha kind of folks, kinda slow
But we gotta go cause the world's so Ill
L - Livin' the life and livin' it right
And livin' for Christ and that's real in the field
I- Intelligent but irrelavent without Christ
It's nothing but another sin element
E- Eternal Purpose, without it this earth is dead and worthless
N- Never stop giving Him Props
Giving Him praise now until the end of our days
S- Seek Him and please Him and let the people know that they need Him
Aliens! New Creations, new free agents, ain't signed to sin
What the world do, we don't do
Cause we wanna do what the Lord does; Christ within our system
Listen our mission's the Great Commisssion, we come here to represent Him
That's why we call ourself Christianans, Ha, Let me spit another line
For the Plumbline and the Frontline one time on the front lines
keep holdin' it down for all the pilgrims
All over the world representing for the bloodline

[Chorus]

[Tedashii]
I feel like running through the middle of the campus
With the Gammas dropping hammers, waving banners, saying "JESUS SAVES!"
Bringing together the bretheren in a circle in a cipher
On the corner yellin' "Pass the Phrase!"
Taking heirs of the Kingdom to the field of mission
So they can spill vision to the children missin'
Telling the men in prison
About the "Peace be stiller" "Mr. Rise & Walk" and "Mr. Heal your vision"
Mr. Jesus of Nazareth
Bloodied and beaten and we were the reason for the massacare
For the sin I commit and even when I slip His love is there to grab us up
So as for us, We Hit hoods just like caddilacs
And like James in the Kackalacki
Do things that will make Him Happy
He asks and we do them gladly
We came here as satan's lacky's
Now through Christ I call Him Daddy
He changed us from actin' crappy
Now I'm just a pilgrim passing
I learned that I don't belong
Got new game, new life, new song
Don't fit in? theres nothing wrong, Anti-culture's what I'm on
Royal Priesthood, a chosen one, Rep Him well until He comes
Proposing to people about the propitiation
Pre-paid when Christ died and decided it was done
Preaching to the pushed aside prostitute
Destitute working the block just to feed her son
So if you see us lookin' different dog don't be trippin' just
know that we are ALIENS!

[Chorus]

[Verse Three]
I wish I had a dollar every time I heard em
Holla that I look like seem like talk like them
I blend in til I stand out and shout "Jesus!"
Man I really wanna be like Him
And it's funny, they love me until I speak the truth
And then they say I'm trying salt they game
I gotta do it, I'm the salt of the earth
I eat, breathe, sleep, think, walk, and talk that man
We are not from this planet, we are not from this earth
C.O.G.'s something distinctive bout the way that we work
I never wanna be discredited for editing the elements
Evident of a heaven sent resident
I just wanna represent
Jesus He the way, the holy King, the priest, and the President
I'mma put it in motion, the world loves sin they boastin'
They put it on like some lotion
If you focused you fall for the hocus pocus
And fall tryna gain ya focus, and I ain't Jokin'
We ain't here to play no games we foreigners in new terrain
Here on mission to represent Him and full of biblical amnuition
We aliens!

[Chorus]

We are without Ego, which is what most stories are intending to convey. Money...hmmmm bits of metal, rock and paper? Written numbers and we base everything on that and what told, the mass majority at least.

Legends, whose to say all are true or aren't? It's just a matter of expanding your choices. People did beleive them at one point, switching over to the Bible? I beleive, but not in the Bible- OT. And the New, well, again written way past, alot of it is good saying what Spiritual teachers do, advanced souls that is.

Yes, he's always been one to diverge beyond. The point is question, grow, learn. Everything we beleive may not be as it seems.

Myths are ok for individuals to ponder as potential psychological archetypes of reality, if this brings them joy and pleasure.

But as soon as they are held up to others as a 'must obey' scenario, then they quickly become quite obnoxious and downright putrid.

As far as the theory that we might be an experiment of aliens, I truly don't see any value in that idea. I mean, even if true, then how did the aliens themselves come to be? From yet other aliens?

This is why I'm not impressed by any 'alien theories' concerning how mankind came to be. It simply doesn't answer any questions, it just opens a can of worms to far more questions (like where did the aliens originate from then?)

Also, when it comes to alien theories for the 'genesis' of mankind it still basically requires that life in general started on Earth by chance, then aliens came by and merely tampered with what was already here. So that really doesn't do much for me. I mean, if evolution is already required up to primate, why bring in a 'magic wand' or superior technology at that point to create man? He's already 99.9% evolved on his own by then anyway. To intervene at that precise moment would require some pretty lucky aliens to have discovered planet Earth at just the right moment.

So alien theories don't impress me anymore than the personified God myths. They're almost as absurd.

I still like pantheism in general as the best overall creation myth. it holds the greatest values for everyone. It's a win/win philosophy. If pantheism is true then everyone is a winner, God, Man, animals, you name it. There are no losers in pantheism.

In all these other scenarios there are tons of losers, not the least of which is the creator of the universe himself in most cases. A creator who loses the vast majority of souls he creates is a loser God, an extremely inept creator.

So pantheism is the only truly attractive creation myth to be had, IMHO.

Of course, that doesn't mean that it needs to be true. But for those who like to think of our creator as being 'perfect' pantheism certainly fits that bill. It's as perfect as anything can be.

Nice thoughts, yet the point actually is to make one think beyond the circle. Anything could be true, I won't be one to say IO know what or who, just thoughts that gop randomly threw my head one day. You said who created the aliens, well that would lead back then to the age old q, who created God? Or is this just a dream we dreamed one afternoon, far away and long ago? Did you ever notice that we actually do create our own experiences, existance? If you look deep enough, it is, every day a creation. Long before and long after.

I would have to ask if any of these myths refer to what is good for u and what is not..

lets take the food laws.. Many ancient cultures drank blood and ate raw meat the bible forbids it.

The law of blood.. It says life is in the blood.. we see this to be true and only recongonized in the last 40 or so years.

The law of mold.. Everything that had mold on it had to be destroyed.

just in recent years has scientists found how harmful exposure to mold over time in your house can be.

It goes on and on about health issues that they had noway of knowing and this can be seen by the recent discoveries about what these things can do to u.

Soome will say they learned by trial and error.. some will say its because they did not have refrigeration.

Then did dig a hole in the ground and u can keep meat for a while at 55 degrees and it will not spoil.

So give me examples that the greeks gave to thier people that is still true today that just in the last century did we find to be true..

If u can't then the Scriptures hold on thier own and mythology does not.. Blessings Of Shalom....Miles

Had Biblical 'laws' prevailed, a lot of people would have died early and miserable deaths and a complete chapter of history would have been written much differently.

All myths and legends have teachings, good vs. evil, preserverance paying off, being good. They all are written with these endings, good prevailing over evil.

Saying that these similarities are just a matter of chance is such a cop out.

I think these similarities are proof in themselves that the Christian bible cannot be the word of god. Or at least the god being portrayed within it.

But people will continue to deny the undeniable.

And the humans who survived would've been stronger. Natural selection is a wonderful thing. If we let it work the way it's supposed to.
Medicine--just one of the reasons humanity is doomed to extinction.
