I just harvested some beans anyone have any good recipes for fresh beans

I can salivate just thinking of fresh green beans.
I always do mine with bacon, incluidng a tablespoon
of the bacon drippings to toss.

I eat them raw with ranch dressing ohhh yum yum

I've had that is so good. That's how I prepared them but I added a walla walla onion that I was growing. It was only 2 inches round but it was good.

Did you add the onion in raw after?
Not cooked with the beans?

just had green bean cassorole...ohhhhh I love that!!!!

First thing you need to do is french those things.

Then you need to sort out about four cups of beans. Add a full can of cream of celery soup, three quarter cups of milk, an 1/8 tsp of black pepper and one small can Durquees french fried onions (I think it's 8 oz.). Stir well and put in 9x13 baking dish.

Stick in oven at 350 for thirty minutes. Remove and cover evenly with large can of french fried onions (I think its 16 oz) return to oven and bake for five minutes or until onions are browned.


Trust me, that's a green bean casserole which got me compliments from my Aunts. It's even good as a meal!!!

Homemade Green Beans

Cut two slices of bacon into small squares and fry in medium pot.
When bacon is crisp add two tbsp of butter, melt. Add two cups cut green beans, one half white onion diced, quarter cup of water, salt and pepper to taste. Cook covered until tender.


(I'm pretty sure on measurements, don't have a written receipe for that one just kind of wing it when I make it.)

hummm. blanch them shock them. then bure fon due in a sautuse. butter salt water and lemon. wisk and coat them.

I eat my green beans right out of the garden

Had the soup, my friends in France also make green beans pickle!
Very nice to with a strong cheese or cold meats.
