You know these people put a woman's life on the line here. The 2 1/2 yr sentence was too light in my opinion. Revealing the identity of a CIA operative is not a small thing. Operatives from other Governments have been known to assassinate other operatives at their homes even. 2 1/2 yrs was a very lenient sentence.
Then you have to look at the information they sought to discredit. The Bush Administration purposely lied to all American, so that he could justify an unjust war. This is only the tip of the iceberg, but important preliminary details into an investigation of even more bizarre actions taken against "we the people," and the constitution of the US. Real stuff, not conspiracy theories, and it should not be dismissed lightly. We should be protesting in the streets and demanding accountability. I said months ago on here, and years ago to people who see me everyday, that George Bush should be impeached. I still say that, and tomorrow at the 4th of July show I will be the one with a sign saying impeach Bush now!

i'm not sure a ford nixion pardon is comparably

a little differnt there

ford logic was the nation needed to move on and not
be weighed down with the burden and cost of such an endeavor
not only financially but also in the eyes of the public and
the world

and nixions short coming did not effect a national agent

bush pardoning libby is an outright slap in the face to
those that believe they are working to protect the
interest of the american people

bush also has made the country spend the money (our tax money)
to go the process

he knows or knew he would pardon him b4 it started

just another sign of the waste and non-concern bush has
for the people and the way of life of the people of the united states

the outing of someone doing their job in a life threatening job
in my opinion (which accounts for nothing usually)is an act of treason and should be treated as such

to stop these abuses of presidentail pardoning

congress should create an administrative anti-pardon act
which would make it so a president can not pardon someone
that works for his administration directly or through a member of said administration (if the administration orders or asks
someone do break the law know that they will be pardoned does
that not put them above the law

(ford nixion would not be covered as was not a part of the ford administration) not saying the nixion pardon should or should
not have happened

just a thought

but hey what do i know

I'm just a common working guy, don't make time to read/understand all the political crap. Support my country & it's elected leaders. Depend on them to be truthful & knowledgeable of what the devil is going on. For the last several elections I haven't voted for the best man, but for the best of all the bad guys. Think our govt has followed the direction of our business leaders. Our leaders seem to be more worried about lining their pockets, than making this country/business go. I think we need to start looking at this as a business, forget political partys, 2 term limits, agree with the above mentioned pardon system. I am just as ashamed of Bush as I am of Clinton, our laws are just that laws, when our leaders show disdain for them, makes me shake my head in wonder. I just don't know. Read somewhere once that several laws were changed at the end of the civil war, maybe we need to bring some of them back.

My son is leaving for Iraq this month, he believes in his mission, feels we fight them there or here. I feel the same.
It is our right to feel that way, so don't beat on me about it.
I do agree, there MUST be changes to the political system, but rather than scream "IMPEACH", let's all start working at ideas of how to achieve that REAL change. We need to put an end to the battle of "Democrat vs Republican vs Independant."
All the fighting amongst our selves only lets them all pull more crap.

My question to all the learned folks I read posting here; what REAL changes can we make?

I respect many folks here, but think there is to much time wasted pointing fingers & pushing agenda's. What is REAL folks & what are the steps to reach the type of govt. that built this country? We are the biggest/badest boy on this planet. We have a responsibility to the PLANET to lead, let's do it.

Let the beating's begin

hey! Old Sage.....it's such a mess ....where to begin.....

many of us from our different walks of life , each have to heed your words!
indeed..... IN DEED.

what i see from where i sit is this galling polarization of the nation....which at the end of the day is appropriate, as the corruption and evidence surfaces to justify this split.

what now needs to happen is a grass roots effort amoung 'ordinary people' to relax their grasp on the ideologies that have brought them here and just
basically shake hands. clean up the damage which will take COOPERATION GOOD HUMOUR, and HEALTHY COMMON SENSE.

and remember that everyone is on the same side.....UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. not with us or against us....the neocons against humanity.

something of interest to me was Gordon Brown's opening address to Parliment, announcing the changes in the constitution to allow and command more transparency and give control of certain responsibilities to independant judges.....it's a good read anyway....whether he pulls it off successfully remains to be seen....but it says alot in the modernization of gov. policies, to meet the challenges of these times we are living in now.

unlike the changes bush's policies and administration made to the american constitution without referendum..... its a huge contrast in the political theatre, to what should be a time of responsible leadership and intelligent choices.

any way....it's up to us now each of us , with every eye contact we make, to extend a neutral hand, a hand of cooperation ,hand to hand we build the bridge that crosses over the walls of greed.

At this time, I would like to offer a warm and sincere "Thank You" to President George W. Bush.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Without fear of reprisal, President Bush not only commuted the prison sentence of Lewis "Scooter" Libby, but he also left the door open for a full pardon.

Yes, thank you again, Mr. President. Not only for this, but for everything you've done throughout your Presidency.

You see, when the American public-those of us with normal or above average IQ's-looks back at everything you have done, it's a stone-cold lock that a Democrat will become President in 2008.

And for that, W, I thank you most of all.

Happy days will be here once more-November 2008!!!!!!!!!

After years the people who saw the truth of this administrations lies being called anti-American, and being told to leave if they don't like it. I find it funny that as more and more of their lies are revealed, so that even the naysayers are now becoming believers, that they begin to cry, cant we talk, cant we just get along. The pity pours as the guilt of their ignorance overwhelms them.
**** George Bush, I wont stop, and anyone that compares this pardon to any given by Clinton need a slap in the back of the head so they might wake up.
Their is no comparison, Libby's crimes were an effort to cover up the lies that this administration forced down our throats while he covered up violations to the constitution. Now he pardons him to maintain status qua in the Bushy network of bull****. That they think they are above the law, and to protect their own ass. The lies will continue to be revealed and to stop now would show a disregard for everything America Values. Complacency is just plain stupid, and I will have no part of it. If you support this President and his illegal war, then eat crow. My nephew is going to fight this illegal war too, and I cant seem to stop it quick enough, but if he is killed at least I will have a quilt free conscience that I tried to stop it.
If you want to fix the system then distribute the millions of dollars major corporations give to THEIR candidate of choice evenly amongst anyone who so chooses to run. There in lies the problem, as it stands now they are buying the candidate that will pass legislation to benefit their whims. Parliament, sorry Alex, but today is the 4th of July, the British government is a screwed up system far worse than ours. That's funny, really!!!
I could support revision to our current constitution, but it would be to wipe away more than 90% of the amendments added since its signing, after we kicked the British out!
