A Southern California middle school teacher seduced and molested a 14-year-old student in a sexual affair that lasted several months, until the teacher's husband, a Los Angeles police officer, discovered the relationship and threatened to kill the boy, his family claims in a lawsuit.

The suit, filed Tuesday, claims LAPD officer National Beck threatened to kill the teen and his family with his police department-issued weapon in retaliation for the affair.

The incident allegedly occurred when Beck found his wife, Amy Beck, and the boy in his Burbank, Calif., home and she confessed to the relationship.

Amy Beck met the boy while he was in her sixth-grade class at David Starr Jordan Middle School in Burbank, according to court documents. While the boy was working as her teaching assistant, the family claims that "defendant Beck began a coordinated campaign designed to seduce the victim into having a sexual relationship with her and ultimately began sexually molesting and abusing the victim," the suit alleges.

The affair lasted from March to September of 2009. Amy Beck turned herself in to police in March last year and pleaded no contest to unlawful sexual intercourse and committing a lewd act on a child. She is currently serving two years in prison.

In addition to the officer, the family's suit names the LAPD, Amy Beck, the school district, school officials and the city of Los Angeles as defendants, accusing them of failing to take appropriate action during and following the affair.

I don't think you can blame the guy, if it happened in the heat of the moment.

It pains me when I see women behave in the same debaucherous way as so many men. Seriously, how creepy is that woman? What is wrong with that woman? Oh, about as creepy as a whole lot of men. Still, it offends my gender.

Man, so did I, but thank goodness I didn't know about doing dumb stuff. I kept it all to my fantasies. So many men, so much fantasy room. But that's where it stayed. But I was the young, "fiesty", hormonal one. The growed-ups should know better. Yet another example of the deterioration of modern society. Total shame. Would never have occurred to me to act out as a teen. Should never have occurred to that woman to act out as an adult.

The teens daddy should have just punched him in the face, took his stun gun and popped him with it and while he was down writhing in pain he should have depantsed him and shoved his baton up his ***. Jeez......A 14 year old bangs his teacher and he is the victim? Really? Look i know the whole equality argument, i just aint buying it! I understand women see it different and whatever i can understand why they want her punished but trust me this boy does not see himself as a victim and i seriously doubt he is bothered by this. If I walked in on somebody having sex with my wife, I would probably threaten his life too...or take it. I'm not a cop, I just have red blood and don't cotton to another male putting his junk in my woman's junk drawers.

Yeah i would be pist too, but a 14 year old? Not much you can do but shake your head and move on. Besides i doubt this was the first sign he was with a "ho"! I mean cheating is one thing but a 14 year old boy? He had to know she was crazy! just my opinion!

When I was in High School I did hit on one of my teachers. She just got out of college and I was 18 so I figured what the hell. It got me sent to the deans office.

Unfortunately a lot of cops believe they are above the law and are egomaniacs.

I wouldn't, I would take a quick picture and call my attorney. I just won the divorce case! Besides losing your temper you will automatically lose and end up in jail.

I think anyone who has self control could handle that situation the right way. It might hurt and would suck, but making threats doesn't help in any way.
