Let'e try again. Contestants, are you ready?

HERE GOES:

In the '60s, there was a song about a character named "Kookie", who liked to comb his hair a lot. This character was one of the stars of a '60s TV show? What was the TV show, and, for extra credit, what was the actor's name who played him?

Once again, GOOD LUCK!!

And remember, just like the lottery, if you don't play, you can't win!

Right show, sushi, wrong actor. But you get full credit anyway. His name was Edd Byrnes(I think his 1st name is spelled with 2 d's.

Thank you further, sushi, because you've inspired my next question:

Effrin Zimblest,Jr had a daughter who starred on an 80's TV show. I need:
1-Her real name
2-The TV show
3-Her co-star's name, who went on to have a big movie career.

Summerlady Wins! OK, sushi, I'm assuming you're talking about a harder question. Well, you've egged me on, so here goes:

Name the first TV character to have a telephone in his car.

4 Hints:

He was a detective.

It was NOT Maxwell Smart.

This show was on in the 50's.

The actor potraying this character went on to a far bigger role on a 60's TV show.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!

Ed Byrnes was the Kookie character. I have stood on the spot where the Corvette always came to a screeching halt. There is a plaque in the sidewalk on Sunset Strip where it was. The building is still there also!!

Good guesses, all, but non'e correct. I meant to post the answer at noon today, but the politics of everyday life got in the way. Better late than never, I guess:

Richard Diamond, Private Eye

The actor playing Diamond, David Janssen, went on to much bigger fame in the 60's playing Richard Kimble on the show The Fugitive.

Interesting side note: On the Richard Diamond show, they only showed Diamond's secretary's legs. Never a facial shot. This character was played by a very young Mary Tyler Moore.

Will be back tomorrow with another question "from the vault".
GOODNIGHT NOW!!!!
