I still visit my ex-girlfriend's dad at the retirement home here in E. Tennessee.

She moved to Hawaii a couple of years ago. I started visiting him when her and I were together. We became friends because he's a really interesting character and hardly anyone else ever comes to see him.

Anyways, last Sunday afternoon I was there with my adult daughter in-tow and when I went to get her an orange juice at the vending machine, I bent over to retrieve my change from the machine and felt someone pinch my back pocket area. I nearly jumped out of my skin, turned around and almost knocked this smiling old lady over.

An attendant noticed the commotion and quickly rushed over while stating " Now Agnus, that gentleman doesn't need your help".

Today my daughter felt the need to post all about the whole incident on her Facebook page.

Arghhh !

I'm not embarrassed really. At least I'm getting SOME action.

I think its incredible.

Everyone in that rest home is still a person with hoped, dreams, and desires. I hope so, because one day I might be there too.


Many years ago, I was dating a woman thar was a LPN, that worked in a nursing home. I visited her almost every day. There was a day a new patient showed up, and every night I visited my girlfriend, this elderly woman asked me to lay in bed with her. (My visits were late at night) I was freaked out for awhile until I talked to her and was told that her husband of 60 years has just recently passed away. She really missed the warmth of another body in her bed. Needless to say, I didn't crawl in her bed, but I did hold her hand on several nights until she fell asleep.

Okay, I went on and on, but the memory just came back to me.
