Valentines day is nice, although I never really got to emotional about it. I seem to remember Al Capone's thought of Valentines day. Boy he was a mean guy.

eh...not a horror story, but my ex husband never did anything for Valentine's Day for me. I always bought him a gift, a card, and fixed him a steak dinner...creep was giving his daughter and daughter in law these huge heart shaped boxes of chocolate...told me that Valentine's Day was for kids....I have had one GOOD Valentine's Day in my life...a year ago...and will never forget it

Sounds like my x...used to tell me on Mothers Day that I wasn't his mother laugh

If I thought about it I could probably come up with horror stories for every holiday, the big ones and the small ones. Dad used to drink, I remember more than one fully decorated tree fling across the living room. I lived with a guy who used July 4th as an excuse to drink peppermint shnopes all day and make huge scenes at the fireworks in front of all our friends and a million strangers. Not much smells worse than peppermint shnopes when it comes back up!!

I prefer to think about the wonderful holidays, there have been so many over my lifetime and I am sure that as long as I live there will be many more. My son's first Christmas and all of the Christmases of his childhood. My first Valentines day as a bride, we had no money but I spent hours cutting out red and pink hearts and taped them all over the house. Valentine's day during my junior year of high school when I kissed all the senior boys I thought were hunks and wished them "happy VD"!! (thought I was soooo cool) LOL

No Valentine for me this year...maybe the next.

Well, I have never celebrated Valentine's day. I always get broken up with days before. Does anyone have any horror stories about Valentine's Day? Or did anyone have the lovely experience of having their significant other break their heart days/weeks away from the pesky day of love and what not?

You and I have the same problem. I always seem to end up single on Valentines day. Just once I would like to spend it with someone special.

I just received a lovely card with a big red heart and MISSING YOU on the front. Turned it over to find it was addressed to my dead husband from a tiling supplier he did business with.
