I once got an initial email that went
something like this:

'Who the **** do you think you ***ing are?
You think any ****ing dude of 18 is gonna
want your **** ***? You are a piece of ****
that deserves ****.
**** my ****.'

It struck me as so bizarre that I replied.
I said, the age range (18-300 or so) is so
that people from the forums can contact me,
no matter their age.

He replied back.

'**** that. You ******* are all ****.
I **** all you ****ing *******.
Go **** yourself.'

Now, I don't reply, get the picture?

i said i was sorry on the very next email

It was the way you said it..

'I am sorry your miserable ***** got all *****
and I hope your ***** falls off. Email me.'

no answer is an answer

either them message was deleted with a group
or there was nothing there to respond to
or your profile( YES< people read those) portrayed someone incompatible in their interests/points of view
or, just as bad, something in the message or profile makes it CLEAR that the sender didnt read the females profile

its not cool to have to explain ones preferences so its easier to just let the other person move on to someone else

From a woman's point of view...if you just say "hi" and that's it...don't expect a whole lot in return. I haven't been on here long and unfortunately (or fortunately, however you wish to perceive it) I am new to the dating scene. Already what I'm seeing is guys messaging me with nothing more than "hi" or giving me nicknames (sweetie, honey, etc) without ever talking to me first. Ask me questions...get to know me...let me get to know you...but you gotta say more. And NO propositions. Seriously...if I was looking for a "hook-up", I'd go to my local bar.

Sapphireturtle....well put for your first post!

Agree....no propositions....I've gotten "you need a man to take care of you". Sorry Honey, been doing well for the past three years, on my own. I don't need...I choose

Hi Art.....   oops

I have recently noticed that most ladies turn down guys proposal for relationship, most impotantly online. You messaged them or talk personally but no reply to your proposal. Is it that he's not handsome enough, not wealthy,or he approches you wrongly. If he approches you wrongly just know that he is a newbie, dont wait for one that would say who he's not or fellings he dint have for you. It's a great shock for a guy to messaged a lady and got no answer.Yes or no may not hurt but please answer him. Please tell me why?

Because...then this entire conversation would transcribe over to email and it would turn into a debate that isn't worth it for anyone to get into.

On top of that...if your first message to women is a relationship proposal, you're scaring them off.

can you make any effort if your messages are being deleted withou a reply?

This seems to happen to everyone. I, sometimes, wonder if one or more of the following are the reason(s):

1. People are to self-concious and afraid of rejection so they don't answer.
2. The selection of people seems to be so big that they feel they might do better with someone else.
3. Afraid that the person is weird or has lied in their profile.

You're over-thinking this a bit much.

It is simply because most of us have emailed back declining to meet/talk/date/marry/whatever, and it has turned into a long-winded argument/debate/squabble/fight that would have been better off just ignoring people.

We got smart, we started ignoring people we're not interested in.

This is a good point.

I've had several lengthy debates, stemming from someone's assertion that "you should date me, even though I don't meet your criteria, because...."

What's the point in having criteria if people are just going to ignore them anyway?

My opinion, if someone messeges me with just a "HI" and i dont find him attractvice then i dont respond. if you ask me a question and i dont find you attractive i will answer the question but also add that i am not interested.

I know it goes both ways...ive messaged guys with a little about myself and dont get a response so i simply move on to the next.

its like walking down a street ,, one person may approach you and be appealing by your standards (in their approach and appearance) and others wont

I dont answer everyone that screams out 'yo baby', because its just not my cup of tea and no answer seems more polite than verbally blowing them off

I think email is the same, sometimes after reading a profile that person may seem either unappealing are too far from what interests us, so we do the polite thing by not responding at all, rather than being in a position to explain our disinterest,,,
