Since Mike and Van started the moderator system I have seen SEVEN (at least) posts that were voted to be dleted for being redundant when this is what they said:


"hi, I am new here. Will someone talk to me?" Or somethig along those lines.

let me ask you holier than me people this one question. If people are not allowed to say hello I am new here, would you liek to talk, how are they gonna introduce themselves? HUH?



GROW UP people, and stop trying to act like your something your not.

Daniel -- Personally, I'm abstaining from the whole moderation process because I have issues with censorship, per se, unless the message clearly and egregiously violates the rule against attacking another member. While I recognize that VC & Mike have every right to implement whatever systems they see fit, I do not feel qualified to make decisions that may involve deleting posts which may, in the long run, be of use to someone else.

I think the examples you refer to -- the fact that someone would vote to delete a simple hello/introduction -- would indicate that there are some here who would use the system for purposes other than those intended.

it is ourpleasure true. Even though there are some crabapples in this tree, there are also some very sweet ones as well, and we try to keep the crabs down to a minimum

lex you are so right. I have to be honost inthat I am glad to see the moderation system up and in trial, but people are going to have to grow up and use it responsibly, which is what I was trying to point out a moment ago.

the ones that get me are the "PITY PARTY" ones...the hellos and such..being deleted..i dont think so...thats the purpose of JSH if you ask me..!

sometimes it is easier to talk to people on the pc than in person... i think people judge people to quickly... without giving them a chance
