I agree with Nurjoyce... 'cept... I shouldn't admire myself... but let's throw single dads in there too. My kids' dads have disappeared off the face of the earth... so I admire a guy who will stick it through and be there for their kid,(s) regardless of how much of a bloodsucking, firebreathing b---h their ex was!

Yes I agree those single dads out there never seize to amaze me.

i agree about single dads also!
i just think it is harder for women in the work force.

my ex is wonderful as far as being there for the kids. he never goes against what i say as far as when it comes to the kids. if they call him and ask about something or for something..he saids what did your mom say? it is nice knowing you do not have to fight someone every step of the way. he does not pay right on his child support etc, but to me that is least important. i appreciate his support and staying a major part of their lives. and there is not anything he would not do for me either. i tell my kids- you can not live with someone for 14 years and not want the best for them even if it does not work between you.

I admire those who open their hearts to someone they know is in need of some kinds words or just someone there.

I see everyone I don;t know as a friend until otherwise, and people who do the same, have alot of respect from me.

Yeah and single parents too! I hope to one day be a father, Though only time will tell.

I wish I had those types of relationship with my exes... but they refuse to have any contact with me or their kids... no child support, no visiting, no phone calls... not even a birthday card or a Christmas present.. they go on with life as if their kids don't exist.

So I do it on my own. I get mother's day & father's day gifts... I am around my kids 99% of the time (aside form work)... I rarely go out, and I just stay focused on the task at hand.

I know, as a woman, we can be difficult to deal with... I know I am if you make me angry enough... but it's no reason to disregard your kids. It hurts them more than it hurts me... and the worst is knowing, that as a mom, you wanna do everything to fix their pain, bandage the boobooss and make the world great for them... and knowing that having their dads is the one thing they truly want, and the only thing I can't provide...

it makes me feel as if I have failed them... even if it is beyond my control.

You haven't failed them, it seams like it, but you havent.

I have known people who have seen their dads walk out of their lives.

I don't understand why someone would leave their own children like that, personaly, If I married someone with children, I wouldent mistreat my step children. I'm protevtive of kids, maybe I should join CPS?
