I love dogs, don't think there has been a time in my life that I didn't have a dog or two by my side. I am a little partial to the Husky. They possess such a strong spirit, and can be so gentle too! I tend to adopt dogs from the shelter or rescued from puppy mills. At the moment I share my home with 3 wonderful canines, 2 Huskies and a Dalmation. For the most part we all get along! Lol....

I always had a dog when I lived at home. I had a norweigian elkhound that my parents found abandoned as a puppy in the bathroom of the laundrymat at the truckstop where my mom was a waitress.

I used to show her in 4-H when I was in school, going to the state fair all 4 years in 4-H, taking 9th in state my very first year. She was incredibly smart, and loved to work. When she got in the show ring she seemed to know it was time to be all business, and I cleaned house at almost everyshow I went to time and time again.

After high school when I moved out of mom and dad's and out on my own, I was unable to keep her. My cousin who has always been like my 2nd mom took her and continued to show her. I'd stop by when I could to visit, and she'd come running when she saw me, and wouldn't leave my side until it was time for me to go. She passed a year or so ago at the age of 16. She was probably the best dog anyone could've ever hoped to have

I have cats, but I am a catlover and doglover both equally, I love all breeds of dogs, always had dogs when I was younger, my two black labs and a golden retriever, not at the same time, fun to play with and great protectors, also in my early twenties had a doberman australian shepard mix, she was so beautiful called her lady, and she was a lady perfect manners for a dog.

Years ago the kids and I had an Old English Sheepdog.. She had the best personality, got along with everyone...Also had a West Highland Terrier but he was my husbands dog and was too much for me to handle so I was able to find him a good home with teenage kids that just adore him.. They still send me pics of him...lol I, myself, am a cat lady and have always had a cat..Pookie is a shorthaired tuxedo (black and white)cat.. Have had him since he was 5 wks old...bigsmile

If you're RC, then the connection is obvious.

I like dogs, too. I have a German Sheppard, a Vizsla, a Border collie, a lass, a puli, a poinsetter, a fox terrier, a damnatian, a chihuahua, a dobbermann semi-automatic, and a three bulldogs.

And I only have one dog.

All dogs go to heaven... it's automatic.

Dogs are such nostalgic animals... something comes from the past, and they become tearfully grateful for the whiff of old times to return.

I've always had cats as well. I have 3 right now, all are inside, fixed, and spoiled rotten, lol. My 2 boys I got as kittens, and my girl was a stray probably almost a year old that I got attatched to and brought inside. They're all about 3 years old now.

There's a common misconception about having cats. You're not crazy by having them, and your home does not stink if you take care of it and clean. I'm very anal about keeping my place clean, even before I had them

I love the mind of a working dog and was really into GSDs as a teen :) They are so obedient and willing to figure out what you want so they can give it to you!!!

When I was 19 I ended giving my wolf/pit/akita mix back to my parents since living in the city was not right for him and they had a place with a nice big yard and such better suited for him. A friend gave me a pit bull puppy so I'd have a dog and from then on I have had pits.

The definitely do not think like a working dog and are not he most obedient because they are generally more concerned with can they train you to give them what they want...LOL! I have never seen dogs that would go to any length just to make someone smile. If you are sad they will smother you in kisses (literally)!!! Those big ole smiles are just irresistible as well :) They have so much heart & it amazes me the bad experiences they can go through without holding a grudge or giving up :)

Yeah, man. They tear the neighbour's kid apart, and you can't keep but laugh as the kid loses limb after limb.

It's a hoot, I am telling you. You gotta see it yourself before you understand the humour in it.
