How many guys out here can cook? And I mean actually cook, not follow the directions on a box or pop something in the microwave, we all can do that.

How many of the ladies here like a man that can cook? Just curious.

I am into giving new things a try, I've added a few new things into my repertoire since I started seeing this woman the past few months. I've made chicken fettuccini alfredo and lasagna from scratch as an example. I like to cook, and it's always nice knowing what's in what you're eating. Some things are quite time comsuming, but the end result is worth it

Sir, you are much improved for having both the ability to make the things you mentioned, but the understanding that it is simply a matter of learning to do it.

Cooking is how we sustain ourselves. I could not be with a man who cant or wont do this for himself. I liken it to bathing, laundering clothes, cleaning your home etc.

Sometimes I actually enjoy cooking too, especially if I have good company.

Oh I do all that too, I like to keep myself and my place clean. I think I have a touch of OCD with it, soon as I get home from work I'm right at it doing whatever needs done.

(Cut lasagna-making time in half by
NOT pre-cooking the noodles.)

I cook. I treat it as a science, a hobby, and an artform. I also cook in competition.

Pick a style and work on it. As your skills grow, pick another style. Your girlfriend and your tummy will reward you.

Go back in time in the recipe threads here to find titles that sound interesting. Some are very, very good.

When you come up with something you like, post it here for all to share.

I have split my adult life between cooking in restaurants and the electrical trade.

Thinking of making a bolognese sauce from scratch (including boiling down the tomatoes) in the next week or two.

In fact, was talking to a former boss/coworker last night. He has two culinary degrees, and he was showing me a few things he's been doing with seasoning rubs for pork and chicken of late. I've known the guy for 15 years now. We might eventually open a business together.

Actually, I haven't had them yet. A friend of mine was telling me about them on Sunday, but then I couldn't find them in the store on Monday. He had suggested using them to make my bolognese sauce.

Men who can cook are very attractive to most of the women I know. Personally I think its great when a man can tell me he's going to cook me dinner. Or we can cook a meal together. Its a wonderful talent that can be shared.(bringing cookies to nighbors, or coworkers, cooking with that someone special)
It is definitely a plus.

Something I do for fun is to try to make an omelet out of strange leftovers. Sometimes the omelet is better than the original dish.

I love to cook. I cook all the time. And I rarely use a box mix. My specialty is spaghetti with homemade sauce and salmon or seafood. Yum mm!

Men who cook...sizzle :-)

(I made a baked salmon and topped it
with a mixture of artichoke hearts,
mashed with parmesan cheese, sour cream
and pine nuts, broiled it for a few after,
sooooo good.)

You are not a man! Why are you cooking??pitchfork

I took a salmon filet and seasoned it well with cajun spices and pats of butter and broiled it. I then served it with hot (heat) jalapeno cheddar sauce!

I took a salmon filet and seasoned it well

broiled it. I then served it with hot (heat) jalapeno cheddar sauce!

I started cooking at around 11.
My stepmother was a disgusting cook,
and I use the term lightly.
She would say, see what is in the fridge
for dinner (never having conceived of the
concept of planning) and I would say,
there is something green in a container...
..good enough she would say, heat it up...
but, but, I can't tell what it is..that's
okay, just heat it thoroughly..

No one died fortunately.
I have refused to eat bad food since.

Now, I am having a hard time putting
together salmon and jalapeno, in my mouth..

I guess you will have to trust me on this one. It was DELICIOUS! And had no significant pepper heat... but a ton of flavor.
