America has some awesome real estate. Of course, I didn't have anything to do with that. The original settlers, Thomas Jefferson, Lewis & Clark, et al get to have bragging rights for that.

completely aware of the backlash coming

Im neither proud or ashamed of being AMERICAN, I had nothing to do with it

I am proud of some of the accomplishments of other americans, like overlooking race long enough to actually ELECT a black president

like caring about justice and equality enough to lay down their lives(people like Malcolm and Martin luther and kennedy) to set the example

like the charity that so many american citizens exhibit year after year coming to the aid of those in other countries during catastrophe,,,

like the foresight to allow people to have their own opinions without fear of 'government' retaliation

like the foresight to allow people to have a certain amount of diversity and yet remain just as 'american'

That our country is not a toilet like 3/4 of the rest of the planet as done by the hands of man.

Also for as messed up and corrupt as our system is it isn't as corrupt or messed up like the rest of the world. It is still corrupt and messed up though.

Also our way of life is what many others around the world dream of for themselves!

It can be argued that Disneyland and Blue Jeans helped cripple Communism in Russia. A LOT of people around the world still know Disneyland even though they never been there. it was the freedom of having an amusement park like Disneyland that added to the discontentment of the population in the Soviet Union. The USSR did try to make a place like it but it fell very short. It also shown the stranglehold the government had on entertainment. And Blue jeans? Well, considering Russians IN Russia would pay tourists what amounted to MONTHS worth of wages to buy them in any condition because Blue Jeans of all things were NOT imported into Russia and Russians Wanted them eagerly this helped instigate he discontent Russians and other s within the Soviet Union. The Cold War itself did not kill the Soviet Union. It was a lot of little things behind the scenes like the desire for a better way of living and luxuries we take for granted here they could not get at all there!

I also am proud because we were the birth place of LEVIS JEANS!

Also it was in our period in history when mankind made the most Scientific Achievements to date so far and also the most innovations in technology!

President's Reagan, Eisenhower, Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. War hero's like Senator John McCain, General Patraeus, Ray Marcinko and Oliver North, every man and woman who puts on our military uniform or other uniform that does something to help the other members of this country and others in need all make me Proud to be an American.

I am also damn proud when I catch a crook and file charges because it gets a bad guy off the street or atleast get's them in the system so they are monitored and the rest of us are protected. Also when I conduct excellent interviews finding out how much damage these dirt bags have done to the Major Nationwide Companies I work for doing the investigations.

Only in America can we have a job like this that is a ton of fun and you feel like you accomplish something, and your helping get a criminal off the street or deeper into the system, with every arrest you make. (I make 3-7 a day).

I'm proud tone in a country where we can talk about anything. We can seriously disagree and think he other has rocks in their heads. But yet still respect each other for the diversity of opinions. This would be a very boring country if we all agreed.

Despite all the turmoil, I'm proud to be an American because there are still good people out there.
