I do feel that society has rejected me, in the sense that they don't like the fact I won't live the life they say I "should" live. But that wasn't what brought me to the net.

As a dyed-in-the-wool Arrogant Narcissistic Conceited Jerk©, I really don't see myself as ugly -- OK, I'm no Burgess Meredith, but I'm OK. As for hiding, if that's the case, I'm doing a really poor job of it.

Pretty much. Oh, and research. It's a tremendous thing to be able to look stuff up when I'm writing a book about this or that.

No sir. Unless they find a way for people to be 987,000 miles away from each other and still have sex, this is a negatory.

I suppose it's technically safer here, in a lot of ways. On the other hand, I have no way to meet anyone in real life, so it's not so much a safety issue as it is a practicality issue. On yet another hand, since I'm not actually here to meet anyone, I suppose it's all irrelevant.

My last relationship ended 2 1/2 years ago. Since then, I haven't run across anyone I would consider getting involved with, so there's no dating in the foreseeable future.

Not me, I have a wonderful girlfriend and many friends I see often. We go to nightclubs, movies, parties and many other things.

I often give advice that I hope will be helpful, but it's usually counter-intuitive and doesn't make sense to most of the people that read it.

This is just another way of meeting people and making friends. It's not safer of more dangerous.

1.I came on the 'Net over 13 years ago, because I'm a geek.

3.I do have fun, but also do LOTS of research; plus, I'm attending an online college.

5.I have some great friends IRL, but I've come here to meet more.

6.I have too much IRL and come here for recreation.

7.I genuinely care about people and do what I can to help.

8.I do find more people I have things in common with online. I'm kinda ... quirky.

I really like Mingle2; I came here originally to make friends around my age to hang out with when I move to a state where I know very few people, but I love the community boards because so many of you seem like the ones I love to hang out with. Met some great peeps so far and possibly someone I'd like to be more than friends with.

#12 I like coming here because it's like having 30 or so different living rooms to walk into, sitting down to have a chat, and getting up to leave, without the walking, sitting down and getting up part.

How would I know that?No mingler submitted this data to me.
