If you have a significant other and you introduce them to your friends....could that significant other handle the fact that you have close friends of the opposite sex?

At times it all depends on how one handles their friends that are of the opposite sex. If you spend a lot of time with them without the one your in a relationship with then most likely it will not work. It all depends on how one handles the situation.....

^this and my BFFs have been my friends for 2 decades so a new partner would not progress to significant other without first being able to handle my friendships!

i sure hope so cause most of my friends are men....
