In another thread, msharmony tried to do nice guys a service by asking them to show themselves, but it didn't quite turn out as she hoped.

So, Lady Minglers, how would you describe a "nice guy"? What qualities does he have in your opinion? I'll start.

To me, a nice guy is not a doormat. A nice guy is considerate of others, but does not let them walk all over him. He can hold his temper but still stand up for himself when it's necessary. A nice guy treats his mother, sisters and women in general, with respect. He doesn't act like all men are superior and the women are chattel.

You can love sports, drink beer or even smoke weed and still be a nice guy. It's all in how you treat others. You don't have to be totally selfless, but if you're selfISH, you are not a nice guy. Get this, IMO, you don't have to be rich or super intelligent to be a nice guy. But nice guys are not lazy and they do have common sense.

What do you think, Ladies? Will anyone add to this? Are there any nice guys you know that are single and available? Let us know ...

A nice guy to me is a man who is confident, honest, sensitive, respectful, hard working, clean (as in keeping his body), romantic, and maybe if he is not ashamed of being in touch with his feminine side. Guys hate when I say that to them.

The problem with this is women aren't really that receptive. They want their man in control of himself at all times. Displaying this side is a fast way to be relegated to the "friend zone". Women may disagree but most men have experienced this first hand.

I have been a nice guy in all relationships but I find yi get walked all over the top of by some not so nice Women. But I know not all are the same. But I like yir comment that yi can be nice but never to be a walk over.
