we lost our late dog (kind of greyhound) once. He fell into a river. It was winter, much snow and the air was about -20° Celsius. He was in there 5 days and we have NO idea how he survived.

And one of my cats loves riding on my horse. Don't know why, but she always jumps on the horse's back, when I go out for a walk with him.

One of the barn cats we had growing up, love to ride on the back of this one goat. They would walk all over the farm, together.

WE had a barn cat that liked to sleep on one of the horses at night up in Michigan. It was so cute seeing Abe laying down, with Chester curled up on him.

A friend sent this to me, I felt I should indeed share.

Midnight's story is truly special!

I am a barmaid, with many stray cats of all kinds that frequent my place of employment! I had just gotten divorced, put my beagle of 18 years to sleep.

I have never had a cat before, so I was, and still am so new at her friendship, but it is amazing! So anyway, I did pray to my Mother, who has been gone in heaven for 27 years to send me a little kitten. I was not working that day, but I came in to see some friends.

(By the way, Midnight is sitting on my lap as I type, I swear she thinks that she can too!)

I walked in, and this tiny kitten kept running up my leg to my neck, she was so weak, and starving, full of fleas, and scared! I would put her down, she would run right up, the funny this is, is that I was wearing all black, and she is all black, and the time was Midnight! So I took her home with me, nursed her back to health, got rid of the fleas, had her spayed, and she is the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen. She will sit, if I say so, she retrieves her toys for me to play with her, and she does not have a mean streak in her ever! She has given me such hope, and happiness, I could not bear to be without her!

Thank you for listening everyone, and remember, a friend in life does not have to be human!

Take care and remember to treasure what you have today, for tomorrow it may not be there!

Another she sent. Hope you enjoy.

I live in a house with my grandparent, parents and brother so sometimes I just want something that could only be mine (I was 8 at the time). My dad brought me a kitten off the street and as he said we had to "put it out of its misery." We had tried to help it for a year but she just got worse and worse it was the only fair thing to do. At the vet's office I cried and cried.

My mom was worried that i wouldn't be able to deal with the pain so right after the cat was put down, my mom brought me to the humane society. She told me I could pick any cat I wanted.

I looked in the cages and saw a kitten just lying there so I asked if I could hold her. It was love at first sight. I decided I wanted her and her name was going to be Tiger. She was just adorable, the only problem was that me and my brother fought for everything.

Worried that we might harm her, my mom went back to the humane society and adopted another kitten. This one was supposed to be for my brother. As my mom recently told me, the people told her not to get him - he was horrible with people and very grumpy. My mom picked him up anyways, and he started purring. The lady was surprised and shocked. I guess it was just destiny!

My dad named him DIESLE because he purred really loud and sounded like a diesle engine.

We'd only had him for a little while when one morning he started licking my dad's face and purring in his ear. He woke up and heard a crackling sound outside, what he thought was just rain turned out to be a roaring fire. That soon led to fear and panic. Without this miracle we still call Diesle, we might not have woken up in time to get out of the house! And even though I'm only 11, I think destiny has strange ways of talking to us, and we should never underestimate our best friends.

My little dog Toto had epileptic spells and when he would have a spell I would get down on the floor with him and lay over him holding him and petting him to comfort him. I never knew if he even knew I was there, as he seemed to be in a trance, shaking.

One day I stepped on something with my bare foot it really hurt. I was on the floor whining and wincing in pain and Toto came over and laid on top of me just like I had done for him. I realized he was returning the favor. So sweet.

we had a pomeranian that did that, we heard if you take some karo syrup and rud it on they're gums and try to have them lick it off your fingers while they are have a seizure it will help them snap out of it fast. it worked on indy anyway. a couple seconds and he was fine. without doing that he would take a couple minutes to get over it.
karo syrup can be found in the baking isle at the grocery store, very sweet stuff.

Betty, Icy a year old now. Cats are grand to have around when you are a little down. They can pick your spirits right back up.
