I stopped dreaming in 1996.
When the terror in my life died.
Pretty cool.

I had a dream recently that I went back to Illinois to visit a friend that I haven't seen since he and I were in third grade. In my dream, we were both the age we are now, but he was STILL in third grade.

I asked Google:

Does everyone dream?

Yes. Laboratory studies have shown that we experience our most vivid dreams during a type of sleep called Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep. During REM sleep the brain is very active, the eyes move back and forth rapidly under the lids, and the large muscles of the body are relaxed. REM sleep occurs every 90 - 100 minutes, 3 to 4 times a night, and lasts longer as the night progresses. The final REM period may last as long as 45 minutes. Less vivid dreams occur at other times during the night.

Why do people have trouble remembering their dreams?

Some people have no difficulty in remembering several dreams nightly, whereas others recall dreams only occasionally or not at all. Nearly everything that happens during sleep— including dreams, the thoughts which occur throughout the night and memories of brief awakenings—is forgotten by morning. There is something about the phenomenon of sleep itself which makes it difficult to remember what has occurred and most dreams are forgotten unless they are written down. Sometimes a dream is suddenly remembered later in the day or on another day, suggesting that the memory is not totally lost but for some reason is very hard to retrieve. Sleep and dreams also are affected by a great variety of drugs and medications, including alcohol. Further, stopping certain medications suddenly may cause nightmares. It is advisable to discuss with your physician the effect of any drugs or medications you are taking.

How can I improve my dream memory?

Before you fall asleep, remind yourself that you want to remember your dreams. Keep a paper and pen or tape-recorder by your bedside. As you awaken, try to move as little as possible and try not to think right away about your upcoming day. Write down all of your dreams and images, as they can fade quickly if not recorded. Any distractions will cause the memory of your dream to fade. If you can't remember a full dream, record the last thing that was on your mind before awakening, even if you have only a vague memory of it.

I know that there are 5 stages of sleep with REM as the last stage (which is when we dream). After REM the cycle repeats starting again with stage 1. Even if we don’t remember our dreams we still dream every night.
It’s just that we remember them more often when we wake up closer to the REM stage.

There was a time when I was using medicinal marijuana for longer periods of time. I think it was 2 years. I didn’t remember anything ever the entire time and was bummed out because I love knowing about my dreams. Now I remember my dreams at least 3 or 4 times a week. I have written about 90% of them down.

Maybe the man was the male side of yourself as we all have feminine and male in us.

keep dreaming about my deceased mom. In my dreams she has not passed away but disappeared mysteriously. The theme is always the same but the outcome always different.
In one dream I receive bizarre phone calls from her as if she is drunk (she never drank) or as if she has a screw loose asking for financial support, which is not her personality at all. Then I find out that I was being set up. When they find out I discovered the scam I have to escape or else they’ll kill me. It’s like a good quality thriller.

i have had dreams that i remembered most of and then later on they came true in real life, like dejavu (i think thats how it's spelled). sometimes i wake up from a dream and i'll be wide awake and confused about where i am until i calm dowm and realize i'm at home. i have lots of dreams about running, either away from something chasing me or after something i want to catch. and sometimes i am flying.

Sounds like some precognition. You really should jot notes down when you wake up.

Turn and face whatever you're running from. And stop chasing the other. Sounds like you could get into lucid dreaming fairly easily.

For the past month now, twice a week, consecutively, I've been talking to a tantra master. Can't remember the actual conversation, but do know its happening.

Last night, dreamed I was being held hostage by some unknown, then would get kidnapped by the kidnapper, then kidnapped again. Shakes head.

I have very vivid dreams a lot. I wont talk about them though, i really believe dreams represent things in our lives, and those who remember them are usually searching for answers or being exposed to answers...

interesting... i don't think i do an punching or kicking, the dog is always on the bed and i think he would be hiding if i was, ex never mentioned any puching or kicking either. i'll have to try to write things down. sometimes i am wrestling with animals also lol, not any dogs or cats, its dangerous animals like lions, gators, snakes.
