The actual place where the Texas Chainsaw Massacre took place is about 40 miles from my house.

I've never thought haunted houses were scary; just funny. Every time I took a date I would try to time jumping, pinching her butt, or whatever at the same time as the monsters would jump out!

Hmmmm, I'm single.ohwell

A fascinating question - well posted! Well, over here in England - although many would disagree (as they have a perfect right to!) the London Underground system - the "Tube" - would count as one of the scariest ghostly places around. Ghosts include the Victorian track worker who has surprised many a night engineer, the faceless lady who has terrified many, and the ghost of a famous actor wearing 19th. century apparel who happily wanders down the tracks at night.

Ghosts - love em!

I bet it would be interesting over there. You are in an older country so there is more history to use.

I'm chicken lol but I bet it would be interesting....as long as I can bring the ghost busters with me

You would be absolutely fascinated - too fascinated to be worried - and of course you can bring ghostbusters with you! I think of all the ones I have investigated over the years, the faceless ghosts could be the most frightening at first sight.

Hummm actually the scariest places I have ever been to were the ones that were the random ones. The ones that small towns or areas put together....They seem to tend to put more of the gore effect to it.....surprised scared

I like the out of the way places....isolated. I don't go but I think those would be creepy. Like the one Krupa mentioned.

You are quite right about this. Not too far from where I live, there are several isolated places, haunted, of course, which many people tend to avoid even during the daytime.

Ghosts are not the only things there - I haunt them, too!

I was pregnant with my first son. My cousin asked me to come to her house and stay so the house was occupied while they were at a Denver Bronkos game. Me and the now ex were watching a movie when all of a sudden her piano plinked out a few notes. I got up and went to close the cover over the keys, and when I turned on the lights the cover was closed. I thought it was one of her cats walking across the keys, nope. When I walked back in to the other room where the spouse was, he asked me why did'nt I close the cover? I told him it was already closed. He said, "I am not staying here." He got his shoes on and a cat from outside jumped on the window by where he was sitting. He jumped up and left me there all alone. LOL

There were several things that happened in that house over the years. The one time I was watching the kids, and I thought they were running up and down the up-stairs hallway after they were suppose to be asleep. I went to go up the steps and re- tuck them into bed. I glanced at the mirror at the bottom of the steps before I turned to go up and I saw someone standing at the top of the steps. I started to say, "You better get in bed..." When I looked up at the top the person or kid was gone. So when I got to the top to check in the bedrooms to see who was still up and giggling, all three of the kids were sound asleep. Trust me they were not faking. I checked.

Then there is this house in a town north of where I live that was part of the historic underground railroad. There are a couple of ghosts that live there. One is the old woman in a wheel chair and a younger man that stands on the balcony. I saw the wheel chair out of the corner of my eye one time I was there. We went to go swimming in the pool and I went in to change and she was going down the hallway into a room. When I got to the room, she was gone.

I participated in a seance once. That was scary. scared

But, I've never been to a haunted house. Although my co-workers are convinced our new office building is haunted. It used to be a Chinese medicine shop and several people have heard a young girl in the building after hours and in the bathroom.
