My beach bum Hero died today
alone, his song unsung
he slipped away in his quiet way
and I am quite undone.

I always took a sandwich
he would trade a rainbow smile
a loner, never lonely
we would sit, and talk a while.

Eddie's hands were always cold
as he kept the bottle level
his bloodshot eyes were ancient old
but they twinkled like the Devil.

Eddie always told me
he was sure he'd go to Hell
he'd done all a man could do
and he'd done it very well.

Eddie was the Best of Best
and he and I are good
I sing for him like the angels might
'cause Eddie's found his 'Hood.

I'm sure he'll be the perfect guest
that old boy had game
Eddie is in Heaven now
in the 'Hood, from whence he came.

Goodbyes never come easy,,and your words speak of a very nice shared friend,,who he felt you were to him,,and THATS the best picture he could ever take with him ih his heart....I thank you for being a real human being soufie,,,to me it takes a special person to really see, feel, and touch the heart of a street person....
His loss will always be seen where you two walked,,and now he shall truly have all he will ever need....I'll say a Prayer for you both and May God open HIS GATES WIDE,,for your friend...
