Just wondering if anybody gets this constantly.
I'm so tired of hearing it. Yes, I'm single. Do you want me to apologize for that? Have you seen what's out there? I'm not single because I want to be single, I'm single because it's better than any of the alternatives I've collided with so far. "Lesser of two evils," so to speak. although I really don't think either option is "evil," per se, one of them is just horribly misguided and delusional. And it probably doesn't help that I'm almost never attracted to anybody, anyway. The main thing is, I really don't care if you can believe I'm still single or not. It doesn't change anything, and it doesn't help either one of us for you to harp on it.... I can't believe you still haven't come up with any new material.... |

Yup, hear it from most of the men I speak to for more than one conversation. I just say it is a self induced state of being.

Good for you Lex. Nothing wrong with single. I like being able to have all the friends possible without anyone "expecting" anything. If something happens ..great! If not..I still have friends.

When someone says something about you being single then you could come back with something about them 'settling'...or worse yet ask their partner why they 'settled' for them...lol

Although, historically, I've always been the one who has to listen to them drone on and on interminably about how awful the relationship is.... I think I'm just gonna say "If it bothers you so much, do something about it." That should shut them up. |

They send me a string of compliments, they say, "I can't believe somebody hasn't snatched you up yet," and then they badger me about not dating women with kids. Hey, we're not negotiating here. |

I get the idea the guys have is they're going to find out some secret as to why I (or any other women they ask) is still single. Or that we're going to tell them all that's wrong with us. |
