Thank you Searching man...

Yes, some of us are very strong women,
and would make a good president,
but do not have the financial backing...

I think our country needs a wiser, gentler,
more understanding and compassionate leader...

I personally have never seen Hillary exhibit any of that.

i'm still waiting for the politician that will admit he made some mistakes but take action to correct. when they keep trying to spin it sometimes i can't help but feel like they just think we're stupid..especially if it's a really lame excuse.

ArtGurl,

It wasn't a sexist comment, it was a joke about Bill and Hilliary.

How exactly was to supposed to know that "Spider .... Wow! Would you say that about a male politician" was a joke? There was no indication and as I remember...I had to apologize to you about a joke once before because you didn't realize it was a joke. Now that you have made a joke, but I didn't realize it was a joke, will you do the same?

Rapunzel,

"Spider, you amaze me... "

How do you mean?

Spider, I was teasing with that comment because I wasn't sure if you even realized how it sounded.

...a comment that states that basically it is a woman's fault that her man cheats because she isn't adventurous enough in the bedroom is by its very nature a sexist comment.

A joke at the expense of one gender over another is by its nature a sexist joke.

Does the fact that it is about two well known politicians now make it non-sexist somehow? No it doesn't.

I assure you my panties are not all up in a bunch about it. Not in the least.

Your reaction now, however, is completely baffling...

If you took that comment as a slight in some way and then retorted with "Artgurl ... Go get me some pie and a beer." - shall I now be offended? Were you showing me my place? I gave you the benefit of the doubt and chose to respond with humour and not look for reasons to be offended.

Yes, I am sorry spider. I should never have gotten involved in this. I will bow out now before I do get offended. Good evening.

Hillary Clinton is a power hungry person and I personally do not believe she should get anywhere near the white house. No, I'm not against a woman as president but her? No way.

some people are just focus in themselves
that they don't have to see the difference between a joke and a serious statement.

ArtGurl,

YOU SAID: "shall I now be offended?"

REPLY: That's up to you. For the record, I wrote the the post that starts with "I make a joke about Hilliary, so that must mean I'm a misogynist? " before I read your reponse to the "Go get me some pie and a beer" post. I figured most people (including you) wouldn't get the fact that I was intentionally being a chauvinist (in reponse to your first post) so I wanted to clarify my position. My thought was that if you are going to accuse me of being a chauvinist, I was going to say something that actually was sexist.

YOU SAID: "I gave you the benefit of the doubt and chose to respond with humour and not look for reasons to be offended."

REPLY: It was a joke. I was surprised that you realized it was a joke and didn't take offense. I'm used to my jokes being taken as insults by people here, my sense of humor is very dry and esoteric and it takes people a while to know the difference between a joke and a serious statement. I realize this and I have avoided posting anything that I would consider a joke. But recently I decided that I will be attacked regardless of what I post, so I'll just be myself. In real life I make jokes, so I'm going to make jokes here.

YOU SAID: "Yes, I am sorry spider. I should never have gotten involved in this. I will bow out now before I do get offended. Good evening. "

REPLY: Now really, was that necessary? This kind of thing could make people believe that I told you to stop posting, which I wouldn't do.

Rapunzel,

I'm full of surprises. Okay, not really. I'm a fairly typical geek.

Serchin4MyRedWine,

You should meet my daughter. She only stops talking to sleep. She woke me up at 2:00 AM! to tell me a ghost story she made up. It wasn't very good, but I had to do my best sleep deprived, scared daddy act.
