How do I tell someone through an email that I am not intrested in going out with them on date? I don't want to be rude but the guy is twice my age and older than my parents.... I don't mind being friends, but don't want to go out... what should I do?

Be straight forward and just tell him you do not want to do it. OR just ignore him. I would suggest not being friends with him as this will just give him reason to think he may have a chance in the future with you.

      dear dude,
Kind of you to offer, no really, i'm blushing. But, uh, no thanks. sincerely sign here. Seriously though, just say no.

I think just ignoring him might work.... it just makes me feel bad though. I mean he didn't do anything wrong and I am flattered but I just can see it going any further than email.. Thanks for the advice.

Be honest, jbeal. You must be straight-forward with some people or they will not leave you alone. Say what you feel and make no appologies.....
Good luck! | |

hmm I think its a bit creepy that a guy (as old as your parents) is trying to get with you but thats just me. I personally wouldnt feel bad, I would be creeped out
| | |
|
oops, forgot to ask: Does he make like a gajillion dollars? | |
| | |
|
I actually am kinda creeped out by it but at the same time I think he must be lonely.... I don't know.

he probably just likes younger women no reason to be creeped out but i don't think you should just ignore him. it's not like you have to tell him in person or anything, it's just an e-mail.

i think i resemble this topic.
Guy in his forties, forgets how old he looks, looks at girls in their twenties. doh!

      ezguy....
I don't think so.... he doesn't look like he does, but either way that wouldn't matter. I refuse to date someone that could be my dad. haha
| | |
|
just tell him you dont need a dad your looking for bf lol and if your dad fond out he'll kick his butt. if it was my dauter i would

      Ezguy
there is absolutely nothing wrong with looking... I admit that I look at younger men but then it hits me that I would be considered a cradle robber and I immeadeatly move on..... lol
| | |
|
i don't have spell check either..... oops

|
I just sent him an email.... basically said, don't want to be rude but you're twice my age and I don't think it's appropriate.. Hope he gets the hint... oh well.
     | |
| | |
|
      lol, i bet he does.
     | |
| | |
|
He'll get the hint and if he doesn't ...BLOCK. Or just tell him you're moving on and "it was nice talking to you".
     | |
| | |
| Jbeal...I think it was thoughtful to just tell him the truth...not just ignore him....I do believe everyone deserves an explanation and not to be ignored..... | |
