We have It to celebrate who we are, it's when you can feel happy and hold hands with your boyfreind or if you're a girl with your girlfriend without homophobic abuse for one day. Shame a lot of people are homophobic because if you got to know us you'd actually really like us :)

It's a shame a lot of people will always remain ignorant of so many things really. I hope you enjoy not just that day but all your days.

Did I miss a homophobia thread on here somewhere?

I would say the site is pretty open to people of all sexual orientations on here. If you are speaking of the outside world though... good luck with that. Homophobia has been going on since the Romans invented it and I am sure will be going on for many many years to come.

Be yourself, enjoy what you enjoy and don't sweat the rest of it.

And yes, before I get a letter, I know homosexuality was neither invented, nor started in Rome.

I don't think there needs to be a homophobia thread for someone to want to express their feelings. Unfortunately, many people are still homophobic. It doesn't necessarily have to do with the site.

Well, to my way of thinking, if you aren't a
little different you probably are boring.

I've never had a problem with gay ppl, unless they tried to convert me of course. One thing I don't understand is the gay "pride" thing. Does this mean you are "proud" to be attracted to the same sex? Like an accomplishment? If so, This term doesn't make any sense to me.

Just be who you are!

Welcome to Mingle!

I don't see how pride in being who he is can be a bad thing.

It's not.... I just don't understand how pride relates to sexual orientation as an accomplishment.

Ex: I'm proud being the person I am, but I can't see myself being proud about loving Women? I just do!

No offence, but I was more interested in hearing what the OP had to say.... thanks for your input flowerforyou

I was just commenting, that's all. Do you know any gay people in real life? Maybe ask them what they think? Though, hopefully the OP will provide a suitable explanation for you.

It's cool... I just think you misunderstood my post.... again?

Yes, hopefully the OP will... Or someone else attracted to the same sex, that celebrates "Gay Pride".... that would be great too!

Relax. Again, I was just commenting. Asking someone you know to explain it may help even more, which is why I suggested that.

I'm happy and proud of it dammit!

Seriously though, a good friend of mine is gay and I think what he is proud of is that gay people are more accepted today making it easier for them to be open about it.

See that makes sense kinda... I say kinda cause it's like they're proud of society for being more accepting... So they're proud of society?
Or it could be that they're proud of the fact that they worked so hard getting recognized over the years... That! I get

That being said, It's a huge yearly street party here in Montreal where everyone is welcome... It's both fun and outrageously funny. Chq it!

I would say the government is pretty open with homosexuals personally. We have several in office so a little perplexed why you brought this up. I am sure there is discrimination in several areas, but you can find that everywhere, in virtually every city and state and country on earth.

Since they are not allowed to marry in most states, I would say that is Discrimination. They should be allowed to be as miserable as a man and woman lol.

Next time they have that party, go and talk to people. Find out what they think. It may help you understand what's going on and why they're having the party.

It's not only the government discriminating against them. It's sad that things are still that way, though.
